“You paint for fame & status, I paint for freedom & awareness”, reads one of the vertical graffiti that Mr.Paradox Paradise painted on some Berlin building. Likewise, there is nothing in João Alegria’s art that is done with the intention of fame or likes. He spent more than a decade editing with recognition limited to the “community” of sound nomads. “I’ve been doing this for some time and I don’t have a very wide audience”, he admits. However, who knows, knows. And who knows, like it. João Alegria’s music is for connoisseurs. Perhaps that will always be the case.

However, the unique contours of his art, combined with a stubborn aesthetic consistency and prolificacy, are the characteristics that simultaneously nest and vitalize it. The unconditional and obstinate way in which this “guitarist” – as he likes to be called – has created his work is a rare case of perseverance. His motivation? It’s not entirely explicit, but somewhere between the love of music and the physiological need to create lives the truth of João Alegria. If he lives because he breathes, he seems to make music because he has to live. One senses in his speech an inevitability of cathartic genesis that surreptitiously emerges between the lines like a figure wandering through the night.

Mindmix began in 1998 at a military unit in Poznań, where teenage rehearsals sparked a psychedelic journey. Though never properly recorded, Adam kept creating—duos, solo tapes, cosmic jams. Inspired by krautrock and noise legends, he built an underground legacy. In 2025, he revived Mindmix on Soundcloud. We remember when others forgot.

Adam Majdecki-Janicki (ur. 1985) – poeta, autor tekstów i niezależny muzyk związany z nurtem freak-folku oraz eksperymentalnej piosenki autorskiej. Od końca lat 90. prowadzi intensywną działalność artystyczną, koncentrując się na tworzeniu utworów opartych na żywym instrumentarium, głównie gitarowym, oraz na eksploracji form narracyjnych i lirycznych. Jego twórczość charakteryzuje się połączeniem prostoty folkowej pieśni z elementami psychodelii, ironii i mistycyzmu. W warstwie tekstowej operuje językiem pełnym symboli, odniesień kulturowych i osobistych mitologii, często nawiązując do tradycji kontrkulturowej. Wydał szereg albumów w Polsce i za granicą (m.in. Stoned Gypsy Wanderer, Demoludy, Eimi), które stanowią świadectwo jego konsekwentnego poszukiwania autentycznej, niezależnej formy wypowiedzi artystycznej.

A.J. Kaufmann is a poet and musician from Poznań, Poland. His work spans psychedelic folk, experimental rock, and kraut-influenced songwriting. Albums like Stoned Gypsy Wanderer, Second Hand Man, and TN-237m chart a restless, exploratory sound shaped by underground traditions and European counterculture.

I started out in the Polish cassette underground in 1998. I've been recording tapes with simple folk/punk/blues/psychedelic songs, inspired by Syd Barrett, Velvet Underground, Monster Magnet, Woody Guthrie, Sawyer Brown, and Captain Beefheart. Those are the influences I remember today. I was using a pseudonym back then, Adam Sandosa, taken from the first Amon Duul LP, "Psychedelic Underground". I never stopped making art, so here we are in the future.
