Moderat - A New Error

Espai Music returns following a brief hiatus, armed with 'Man Must Explore, the first Espai release from talented Liverpudlian Andy Kneale. Harking back to the days of classic progressive house, the Original Mix borrows familiar moon-landing samples and expertly entwines them into a bed of deep rhythms, trippy synths and expert arrangement to create a track that's destined for the dancefloor. Warm Hall further strengthens his discography with a bullish, melodic techno alternative, adopting some of the sequences of the Original to form it's foundations, before unleashing a savage bassline to sit alongside some flawless Detroit-esque chords and strings. The package is complete by the talented Beaumont Stanford. This remix also utilises the bare sound of the Original before delving into a full on techno affair littered with heavy percussion, twisted vocal segments and 303 undertones. A diverse and highly useable package, we hope you enjoy!

Andy Kneale - Man Must Explore (Warm Hall Remix) [Snippet]

Scottish producer 'Bageera' expertly pilots Espai Music's journey into 2014 with 'Life Without Shapes'. Having made waves in the scene and garnered support from the likes of Carl Cox, Bageera's star has been steadily rising ever since his debut EP on the label back in 2011.
A genre-spanning back catalogue from the artist is bolstered further with the Original Mix, a slab of beautiful, melodic house music with one eye firmly on the dancefloor. A funky guitar lick flitters over a bedrock of solid bass pulses and tough percussive elements, while vocal excerpts, strings and piano riffs add emotion and depth to a solid foundation.
Canada's Luke Fair, who himself has released original work for Espai in 2013, dons his remix hat here. The outcome is trademark stuff - solid, deep and groovy house music, showered with melody and emotion. Utilising some of the funk-infused ideas of the original and the prominent piano hook, the mix takes on a life of it's own with a beautiful woodwind sequence and an uplifting bassline.
Rennie Foster vs Rhythm Droid complete the package with an utterly fresh direction. Detroit-infused techy, acid vibes build relentlessly to create a savage re-think of Bageera's brainchild. The breakdown offers brief respite with a burst of melody, juxtaposing what has come before. Rest assured, though, the dancefloor's breather is short as the mix re-engages to a driving conclusion.

For our next release, Espai Music welcome Lovejet. Known for a diverse and eclectic discography through releases on the likes of F-Region Productions and Sonar Kollektiv, Lovejet adds a 'Babylon' to the list. The original mix is a beautiful piece of deep, melodic techno - with strong hooks underpinning a subtle, evolving soundscape.

Stepping up for remix duties are two established names in the tech-house and techno scene; Talul and Fabrice Lig. Lig, whose back catalogue spans well over a decade having graced the likes of F Communications and R&S Records, kicks off his mix with a bed of techy rhythms and bass before the track takes a darker twist with some savage synth work, trippy keys and atmospherics. Talul completes the set with a deeper, tech house workout. Full of haunting melodies and gorgeous chord progressions, the mix offers a great alternative for those looking for something for the after-hours dancefloors.

Lovejet - Babylon (Original Mix) [Snippet]

Our 'Espai For All' compilation of 2012 featured no less than 20 original tracks from an array of artists, both established and new. Fast forward to 2014, and the label felt it was time to revisit some of it's key moments, with a fresh twist from some of the project's existing artists and new blood.

'Espai For All remixed vol. 1' is the first in a series of EPs looking back at a selection of those tracks, this time including remixes from Days Off, Satoshi Fumi, Andy Kneale and Deep Future.

Days Off takes the reins with Escape From Atlantis by Black I.C.E., creating a bass heavy groove to constrast perfectly with the uplifting break.

Andy Kneale star continues to rise with a hypnotic melody-laden techno workout perfect for the late-night dancefloors.

The inimitable Satoshi Fumi teams up with his friend Takuya Yamashita to revisit 'GRB', putting together a trademark blend of uplifting chords and melodies underpinned by a rock steady Detroit groove.

Bageera's 'Baby Boi' closes the release, this time getting the treatment of Deep Future. Both artists featured on the original compilation and have been regulars on the label since it's conception, so it's fitting that both are involved again.

Deep Future's deep, emotive style is once again evident here, utilising some of the track's original vocal excerpts to muster a beautiful update.
