National Collective was the cultural movement for Scottish independence during Scotland's Referendum from December 2011 to September 2014. 

Starting in a bedroom, we set out with the aim of imagining a better Scotland and inspiring others to campaign through art, written and spoken word, events, local groups and social media. By the end of the campaign we had over 4,000 members, including the support of many of Scotland's most prominent artists, writers and thinkers. 

In 2013 we stood up to the world's largest oil trading company after receiving legal threats, and won.

In the summer of 2014 we organised a mammoth 30 day national grassroots pro-independence festival that took place across Scotland during July. The Yestival tour showcased the grassroots cultural movement for Scottish Independence and included communities in the Scottish Borders, Dumfries & Galloway, central Scotland, Western Isles, the Highlands, Orkney, Shetland, the North East, Angus, Perthshire and Fife as well as all of the country’s seven cities. 

That same summer we also our put on our first ever Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme at the Scottish Story Telling Centre titled 'National Collective presents...'. 

Although the Yes movement didn’t achieve its primary goal of Scottish independence, we made substantial progress, against all of the odds, with an unprecedented 20% swing to Yes and a political engagement powered turnout of 84.59%. 

In October 2014 The List magazine awarded us second place in their 'The Hot 100', beaten to the top spot by Peter Capaldi, the newly announced Dr Who. 

Individually, our members now continue to make their mark by using their skills and experience to help shape Scotland in their own way.

Debs is a Newcastle based artist and maker of music. She trained at The Kent Institute of Art & Design and Goldsmith's, University of London.

Debs is a multi-instrumentalist. She began writing what could be described as acoustic indie-folk. She now tends to focus on writing experimental and cinematic soundscapes.

Debs has played live in session for the BBC. She’s received multiple plays on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio Newcastle, Amazing Radio & many other UK & international radio stations.

Debs has collaborated with New York based cellist Leah Coloff (Damon Albarn/Blur, Nancy Sinatra, Iggy Pop) www.leahcoloff.com 
They will be looking to work together again in the near future.

Songwriter and musician based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Esperi is Scottish multi-instrumentalist Chris Marr. His songs and indeed sounds are both thought provoking and incredibly uplifting. Having already supported the likes of KT Tunstall, Gomez, Johnny Flynn, Olaf Arnolds and James Yorkston and being a regular at festivals like Wickerman, and T in the Park, Esperi is ready to take his wonderful music to a larger audience.

His music ranges from acoustic storytelling to colourful electronica looping and combining different sounds with his acoustic guitar. He uses a host of instruments from the conventional to the unusual including his signature rainbow-coloured bells, which he plays with his feet! He writes about his home, his dogs and his family. There are no airs or graces, he just writes about things as they are.

Chris' delicate voice and honest songwriting is akin to Mike Kinsella (Owen, American Football) but with softer, lilting Scottish undertones. However, Esperi is more than simply an acoustic artist but rather someone very special, writing stories that paint musical pictures, creating wonderful images that will touch your very heart and soul.

Willow Drive was formed in May 2013 by former bandmates Bryan and Stuart. Andrew and Danny were quickly added to complete the lineup. The band immediately began writing a 6-track EP to raise funds for the Willow Foundation and the Beatson Oncology Centre Fund. 

Andrew has close links with both charities and previously began writing a solo EP with the same intention of raising funds. After joining the band, the decision was quickly made to make this a band project. The band name Willow Drive was inspired by the Willow Foundation and the amazing work they have done for Andrew and many other young adults.
