Directions by Dj Essential-i is a valiant comeback and solid mission statement backed by American songstress Samantha Faison and SA's Vuky J and Nativeroots. This cut changes hands three times with the Nativeroots Main Vocal Mix, Vuky J's Soulful Vocal Mix and Nativeroots dub with the charm of Samantha Faison flowing without sounding gimmicky. 

The EP is too heavy and provides an optimistic jolt to the contemplative proceedings and also fits well within the nostalgic premise. An instant classic supported by the likes of QB Smith, The Advocate and Vinny Da Vinci. A great job well done of setting a high standard to the South African House scene with cascading drums, funky guitars, gentile piano keys and soothing strings to the mix, establishing an unexpectedly classical and groovy blend. It all adds up to one impressive EP, especially since Essential-i has been in silence for the past 2 years.

Essential-i has done great things after all.
