Deejay/Producer Gorbera born in Lisbon, Portugal, of Portuguese and Cape Verdean descent. Since early, John found his enormous love for music as a consequence of all the different kinds of music styles he was exposed to throughout his life.
Gorbera’s first performances has a Deejay were garage and school parties. Thanks to his unique style and different sound vibes, he started to get known and received upbeat feedback from his friends. From then on, his passion for music helped him laying the path so far.
An avid music collector since ever, John embraced, years ago, a project for a local radio station in his birth town, simultaneously to his new club residency at one of the most popular clubs of that time. Ultimately, it was during those years that he was introduced to Soulful House Music and to the one who came to be his great mentor and friend, Johnny Rodry. Their friendship grew strong while Rodry showed important things to Gorbera, like how to read a crowd, how to overlook the hype and how to start “story telling” through his music. 
For some years now, John’s musicality has changed a lot while keeping his roots in Soul, Afro, Disco and Jazz. His love for “telling stories” and for connecting with people brought him to enhance his creativity. Blending new and old tunes along with strong grooves, led John into playing for many clubs across the country and overseas (Zurich, Switzerland, US, Greece, others). Gorbera’s trademark is “Soul & Good Energy”.
John Gorbera is known for playing the most spiritual music around. In fact, no one can be indifferent to the message “come party and feel the good vibes”, a message he conveys and recreates time and again.

Coleccionador de música desde sempre, Gorbera abraçou um primeiro projecto numa rádio local e de seguida num dos melhores clubs da Margem Sul onde viria a conhecer um dos seus mentores, Johnny Rodry que o viria a ajudar a abrir horizontes. 
Neste momento Gorbera é muito conhecido pela sua musicalidade e também como um contador de histórias derivado aos seus longos set's que nos apresenta durante noites inteiras. O seu estilo único e inconfundível de misturar várias musicas ja o levaram a países como (Suiça, US, Grécia, Others), deixando sempre a sua imagem de marca "Alma".
A sua influência "Soul, Afro, Disco e Jazz sempre com uma presença enorme de ritmos muito fortes misturado com vocal's de arrepiar tornam os seus set's bastante melódicos e profundos.

Bang The Drum Party was established in 2009 by DJ/Producer Jihad Muhammad in Newark, NJ. Bang The Drum (BTD) has hosted some of the best DJ's and Artists in the Underground Dance Scene. The purpose of the party is to promote the Global Soul Movement. Jihad defines Global soul as " Soulful music...House, Funk, Disco, Afrobeat... any music that touches the soul of all people....of all races. That to me makes it Global ".
