Günce Acı (@gunceaci) makes her Factor City (@factorcity) debut with 3 excellent original tracks followed by solid remixes from Modular Project and Stockholm Youth.

Istanbul-based Dj/Producer Günce Acı has been spinning in many clubs, venues and festivals in Istanbul underground music scene since 2014 and recently in Europe. Influenced by Indie-dance, new wave, electronica and ebm. Her hypnotic pads, powerful bass lines and absurd melodies meet under the roof of her signature sound. She has already showed her talent in great labels such us Ombra INTL or Nein.
Here we have 3 new examples of her very personal and effective take on dance music. Her unique rendition is full of brazen rhythms, sharp beats and moving percussions. Powerful and sleazy bass lines. And hypnotic and mental synth stabs and pads.

The remixes come by Italian rising duo Modular Project. Their take on “Dream of the sirens” is a riveting and percussive ride. A perfectly crafted retouch.

And production team Stockholm Youth, formed by Stockholm Syndrome and Tronic Youth, who deliver a raw, distorted and darker version of “Exposure”.

The release comes wrapped in a beautiful cover by David Imbernon. Mastered At The Groove.

This new entree through delicate synthesis and arpeggios the listener gets driven by the  interrupted loop of a fucked communicating service. Phuckphone, the hypnotic and frenetic single, also includes versions of the renowned Mexican duo Zombies in Miami, as well as the Italo master Frabrizio Mammarella. Mexican producer Fernando Luna returns next week with a new release under his Colossio alias (which has become his permanent creative output of late). Out 18th June, 'Moto' marks his debut on Calypso Records, the label run by Thomass Jackson and Iñigo Vontier. It contains three new originals and a pair of ace remixes from Man Power and Jonathan Kusuma.

The title track is our pick - its dark, driving beat shows off Colossio's krautrock and psychedelic influences, and is bound to ensure this EP becomes a mainstay in numerous record bags.

Steve Boyd aka Cyence (@soundofcyence) has been holding down the residency in Belfast’s longest-running music HQ “Thompson’s Garage” which has played a key role in shaping the city’s music scene by showcasing all things beyond electronic and innovative and for his debut release he has been invited by the progressivist label “@Correspondant” run by Jennifer Cardini.

This DJ turned producer has created a 4 track EP called “Sound of Cyence” inspired by his signature marathon six-hour set that spans from Italo to cosmic to pulsating hyper-strut funk and we are delighted to premiere “Raven”, an undulated sound that sways us between past, present and future.

Hypnotic Groove Mix #317 - Kolomensky

John Parsley (@johnparsley) makes his first appearance on Playground Records (@playgroundrecords) to mark an Ep that kicks the board and leaves a musical riot of unusual dimensions. 3 originals and 2 remixes from Bird Of Paradise and Local Suicide & Time To Sleep giving a roam without letup.

It opens with ‘Coin Crash’, a dancefloor killer with all the letters. An infectious and tremendously addictive bass takes us out plowing in 5th gear, acid modulations pass through the sides leaving a technicolor trail. A break that continues long because an electro techno arpeggio enters on the fly and takes us by the teeth towards the deep trip section of the track. Ruthless.

‘High Life’ puts on the brakes and starts off with a suspenseful and rarefied atmosphere. Bells, curious modulations, immersive aquatic environment. The bass beats constant and right immersing us in a dense and thick musical structure. Distortion contrasts with cloudy pads of ethereal sounds that suspend us. A journey with very personal characteristics shows us that John Parsley is a different musician.

‘New Guardian’ is an intense and hung downtempo break. Following the conceptual line, the atmosphere of intrigue surrounded by acidic but melodic and percussive sounds is mixed with metallic modulations. The resonances open and the harmonics distort, opening the pores of the skin. A dreamlike environment takes hold and shoots hallucinatory images of an expanded and exploded reality. The ears are excited, electronic music of connection towards other vibrational dimensions.

Bird of Paradise is the first guest to make a remix and gives us a different version of ‘Coin Crash’, although equally club bomb, he offers us a completely different soundscape. Supported by the bass of the original they take us on a journey of crossed chord keyboards but totally harmonic in their dissonances. A ping pong of a constant acid modulation that opens and closes towards the sides makes us move our heads without respite. Tasty sweet and sour.

For an unbeatable closure the Ep has as remixers of “High Life” the Local Suicide duo accompanied by Time To Sleep. Adding dark and gloomy vowels, a huge flying electro comes out, cruising through the galaxy. Polished and elegant black, sober but glamorous, it moves slowly and takes us to a state of awe. A song that deserves to be played in clubs because it is made to thunder great soundsystems, hypnotizing the masses.

Denis Kolomensky is a DJ and producer based in Moscow, co-founder of ИДА label & DJ-crew, responsible for many events across the city and introducing various prominent DJs to the Moscow scene. 

Throughout his musical path he experimented with a lot of genres and styles, from synth-pop to experimental cuts, always searching for the new sound which can be found in combining different music directions and approaches. 

As a DJ he extends this vision while playing as eclectic as it’s possible and trying to expand the vision of the audience.

We are happy to announce the debut EP Portuguese-Italian Vhyce.
After his track „Back To Where I Never Was“ on a well received Lost Tapes Vol. 4, he is no stranger to the AEON camp anymore. Known from his releases on Catz N’ Dogz „Pets Recordings“, the young producer delivers a stunning 4 track EP with the title „These Words“.
Vhyce has a very characteristic sound design, which makes his simple and almost minimalistic, but catchy tunes so special; Though always trying to add something new to his repertoire. Like on the title track „These Words“ it was one of the first few attempts for him to sing some vocals on his own instrumentals. „While not being good at singing, I think it really set you free to be able to express your ideas yourself without relying on someone else understanding of your vision,“ he claims.
The track is built around an arpeggiated bass line oscillating between two sequences thats progressively build tension without being too obvious. The lyrics „These words have no meaning“ fell mysterious and open to interpretation. 
 
On the remix duty there’s no one less but „Chicken Lips“ legend Andrew, better known as The Emperor Machine. He stripped back the original to a more funky & grooving rework.  “The plan was to create something that keeps the same emotion as the original mix but still feels different enough without changing direction too much & I think I managed to achieve that”, Andrew says. And yes, what a musical masterpiece he delivered!
„Strive for Ego“ is an attempt to fuse „Can“ & „Neu!“ Krautrock influences into a club track“, says Vicente. Constantly driving forward, with perfect temper and timing to rise tension and built up energy Track title refers to the lyrics... „I’m nobody“.
„Old You“ has a more traditional Italo Disco feel. The „happy“ sounding bass line is counterbalanced with rough and psychedelic analog leads, reminding of traveling through time and space in a 80‘s Sci-Fi movie. The vocoded lyrics shall „refer to an hate-love relationship with your old you....Maybe because it „holds you“, Vhyce describes.
