E.T.C is very close to celebrating their 20-year anniversary since their beginnings in Lima, Peru. Diego Diez Canseco, Carlos Doig, and Rafael Garavito start E.T.C in 1999 inspired by the grunge/new metal sound of bands like Nirvana, Deftones, Silverchair, Bush, Rage Against The Machine, Chevelle, Tool, among others. Although they start as a cover band, playing at different bars and nightclubs in Lima, it is in 2002 when they decide to write their own songs. Eduardo Doig joins the band, replacing Rafael Garavito on 2003, year in which the band is relaunched, taking them to different cities as well as various competitions and awards.

E.T.C debuts their first self-titled album in the year 2010, year in which the band is consolidated within the genre and the local grunge scene. The thirteen tracks included in the album are the result of years of hard work and the tremendous balance that exists between complementing musicians and friends. The first single, Tuntun, still represents the foundation of the band and what came later.

E.T.C is back with new music in 2018; five singles are recorded in Lima (Jamon Records) and mixed and mastered in Brooklyn, New York, by Ed White-Hunt, who focused on maintaining the raw and organic sound of the original recordings.

E.T.C started as a project between three young friends. Twenty years later, they continue to reinvent themselves, maintaining the same grunge style that made them who they are. E.T.C starts with a simple idea: grunge is a way of life. For Carlos, Diego, and Eduardo, E.T.C is all about being true to yourself, don’t worry about trying to fit in or trying to be something you are not. E.T.C is, after all, a space free of critique, it’s a space to create, share, and relax.
