Essie Laugharne is a 24 year old songwriter hailing from Perth, Western Australia. Essie relocated to London in 2015, following her graduation of the Bachelor of Popular Music at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Having began songwriting at a young age, being finalist in songwriting competitions such as the West Australian Music Industry (WAMI) song of the year competition, it was at university that she really began to hone her skills as a songwriter. Performing and releasing regularly as the artist ESSIE, Essie Laugharne boasts a large back catalog of contemporary songs, many of which have been unused in her ESSIE projects. Essie took part in the Taxi Road Music Rally conference in LA in 2014, gathering advice and feedback from industry experts in film, television and advertising publishing and licensing sectors. Essie writes in a variety of contemporary styles, from stadium rock and blues rock, to indie, pop and folk. Essie’s music can be found on her songwriting Soundcloud channel, which features demos of many of her songwriting ideas. Her official ESSIE Soundcloud and website also feature those songs she has written and released as an artist. Essie is always looking to write to briefs, as well as collaborate and write for other artists. Her passion for music and songwriting continues to spur her on to the next idea, continually trying to push the boundaries of her own creativity, to conceive a truly memorable song.
