Fabric asked Headz label manager Ant TC1 to put together a promo mix ahead of a Metalheadz session in room 2 at the London venue on the 16th of August 2013.  It's mixed using 80/90% vinyl and some newer unreleased material off CDR's.

The mix is almost 2 hours long and one that takes a trip right back to early releases on the seminal label since it's early inception within the realms of Breakbeat / Jungle / Drum & Bass (going back 20 years) right up to the labels current and forthcoming releases.  Hope you enjoy.

Eternity Addiction - Lost (Original Mix)

"A Town Called Addis" was inspired by meeting , writing and working with singers and musicians in Addis Ababa in August 2006,and is a collaboration between Dub Colossus (Nick Page) and these amazing musicians covering Azmari and traditional styles as well as the popular singing styles of the 60s and 70s. It seeks to combine the golden years of ethiopique beats (popular again thanks to the release of the critically acclaimed 'Ethiopique' compliation ) and ethiojazz with the dub reggae styles of early 70s reggae groups like the Abyssinians, Mighty Diamonds and so on. along with a hint of Sun Ra..." (Dub Colossus/aka Nick Page)

Azmari Dub

Born in San Paulo, Brazil, where he lived until the age of three, Tomoyoshi Date currently resides in Tokyo, Japan where he works as an iER doctor who practices an integrated approach of Eastern and Western medicines. He creates acoustic and organic sounds with a little touch of digital processing producing a very original minimal music that combines the warmth of Brazil with the delicateness of Japan. Otoha was composed on piano, played at night between the period when Date was informed his daughter was expected and the day before her birth. His daughter Otoha's name means “the sound of leaves”.

willamette compose minimal works for tape, silence, voice and various stringed instrumentation. Romantic music for the old and lackluster, the compositions of willamette are characterized by meticulous notation and uncommon symmetry, emphasizing the importance of space and volume. The classical fugues of their recordings offer a distinctly austere nostalgia, not only capturing the air of an old Delerue record playing in a distant room, but the sound of the room itself. This music was written for the film All the Lines Flow Out by Charles Lim Yi Yong. Limited 10'' vinyl mastered by Taylor Deupree (12k) and cut by Andreas [LUPO] Lubich (Dubplates & Mastering).

Narrowing Type, the first full length album in Good Night & Good Morning’s five year history, is an exploration of the darker side of nostalgia, texture, and delicacy. Recorded entirely in home studios between Chicago and Milwaukee, Narrowing Type retains GN&GM’s vibraphone and guitar core but uses the addition of drums while detouring into sublime realms of static and noise to leave you with deconstructed yet thickened pop music heard and felt through a haze of fog. Ethnicalvibes feat Sitarsonic- NEW DAY IN THE VALLEY

J and I originally wrote "Ditar" in 2003 and "After the Disco" in 2004, so I guess that would mean this EP has been in the works for about 10 years.  Thing is, neither track could seem to find a home outside our DJ sets until last summer when Daniel de Graaf of Fiori (and Pink Stallone) heard "Ditar" on a drive through Jersey and offerd up a remix.  He brought a freshness to the track, with the help of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/julianpetersonmusic">Julian Peterson</a> on vocals, that we couldn't resist sharing with everyone.  The results here speak for themselves, so enjoy and let us know what you think.
