“You become responsible, forever, for what you’ve tamed”, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry writes in his modern fairy tale ‘The Little Prince’, in which his protagonist travels through various worlds in search of friendship and benevolence. The quote is, no doubt, fitting for NIKO SCHWIND, since the Berlin-based DJ and producer consistently demonstrates a deeply anchored love for and close bond to house music – the art form he himself has tamed. As a DJ, he travels the globe since 2001, having played in Europe, Australia, Thailand, Brazil, the US and Mexico, and in his sets he creates a feeling of connectedness between himself and others, as well as within the crowd. His first music on Autist Records, the label on which he subsequently releases his debut LP, ‘The Autistic Disco’, in May 2009, gathers the attention of many top DJs, such as Jeremy P. Caulfield, Ivan Smagghe and Mendo. It is only a matter of time before Oliver Koletzki takes notice of Niko’s productions and his DJ skills. Said skills subsequently see him embark on a hectic touring schedule: whether it’s Sao Paulo’s D Edge, Sydney’s Spice Cellar, Zurich’s Hive, Paris’ Showcase, or Berlin’s Watergate. Until today he has released 2 Albums ’Good Morning Midnight’ and ’Grippin’ World’ as well as tons of singles on Stil Vor Talent. ’The Power’ he especially produced for us. It’s a real banger in the club and has been tested all over the last 6 months.

It's time for something with a bit of a different flavour from Great Stuff boss Tomcraft. As if co-running several of the world's most prolific and successful house and techno imprints wasn't enough, he's also providing some of their hottest releases on an impressively regular basis.
Zounds Of Arca is a cool little groover, fixed around a sassy disco-fied breakbeat that harks back to the golden age of nu skool breaks 2 a sound threatening to make a renaissance at the moment. A futuristic, seductive arpeggiated bassline does the damage in the low end department, with rasping synths drafted in for texture and atmosphere. Banging big room house this is not, with our guide instead taking us in a darkly-tinged, highly-atmospheric, half-step direction.  
If a 4/4 banger is exactly what you're after, however, help as at hand in the form of Phunk Investigation's wonderfully undulating re-rub. Taking that arpeggio bassline as their rhythmic jumping-off point, they build an energetic electro-tech vibe around it, and choose to make the most out of the original's scintillating elements. It's not a reinvention of the wheel, but instead sees the potential of the original through a different prism, with huge builds and hipshaking aplenty along the way.

Release Info: 
“Fosc” is a track that arises from my fascination for Bugge Wesseltoft’s music. I really like his compositional work; the way he inserts darkness with flashing lights and bittersweet notes, Bugge is able to touch your heart and soul. I caught that inspiration but bringing it to my own ground, a more Techno sound.
 
“Laberinto” is quite difficult to describe, it is a mishmash of influences in which everyone could perceive my sometimes passion for organic sounds. This cut was originally composed while improvising with the synthesizer and it is fully inspired by classic horror films.
 
Both are very different from each other, at the same time are tracks that complement each other very well. There is an important balance between layering synths with more acoustic sounds. I have tried to build on this EP a 'glue' to stick sounds and feelings together. “Fosc” and “Laberinto” are slow-cooked compositions, music pieces stimulated by a personal maturation and evolutionary growth as a producer given by years of experience.

PREMIERE: AFFKT - Laberinto (Original Mix) [Suara]

Andrea Oliva has delivered his brand new ‘ Terrace EP ’, a two-track production set for release on Saved, the label of good friend and fellow producer, Nic Fanciulli. 

The Swiss DJ and producer, an international headliner and a mainstay of Ibiza’ s globally acclaimed ANTS residency, unveils the EP fresh off the back of his set at the Ushuaia opening party, with ‘Terrace’ utilising sinister keyboard patterns and a shuddering, rattle which echoes through the floorfilling production. Joined by ‘For You’ on the two-track EP, the latter uses a looping bassline and cosmic-sounding breakdown to produce a high-powered thumper caked in throbbing electronic flutters. 

Having organically taught himself to DJ aged 16, Andrea Oliva has rocked stages worldwide, playing across Miami, Dubai, South America, and at some of the most respected venues in the world including Panorama Bar and Coachella. 

His debut LP ‘4313’ illustrated Andrea ’s willingness to explore conceptual themes within his own carefully constructed house and sonic framework, with Andrea powering through a strong release schedule ever since, with EPs released on Hot Creations, Moon Harbour, Relief, Rejected, Kaluki, 7 Wallace and Circus. Not forgetting of course his massive remixes of Thick Dick ’s “Welcome to The Jungle” (SONDOS), Groove Armada ’s “House with Me” (Snatch) and Tiga’ s “Woke” (Turbo), all of which were supported right across the industry and became huge club anthems. 

In addition to Andrea’s continued involvement with ANTS at Ushuaia Ibiza, in 2017 the producer completed a solo headline “Andrea Oliva & Friends” residency at Ibiza’s latest superclub, Hï Ibiza, and continues his meteoric rise in 2018, having previously produced an essential mix for BBC Radio 1 legend Pete Tong after a back-to-back between the two DJs at the All Gone Pete Tong Miami Music Week pool party. He also played his biggest ADE show to date, for DGTL X Paradise. 

With the Terrace EP marking the 174th release on ‘Saved’, the label has become one of the UK’s biggest techno labels. An important purveyor of international dance, Saved has become a global brand, renowned for cutting-edge releases, establishing Nic Fanciulli as a key tastemaker.

The darkly dynamic ‘Terrace’ EP is set for release on 6th July, arriving in the midst of another busy summer of performances for Andrea Oliva.
