For their fifth release, Belgian label LINK Audio turns to German electronic maestro, Alexander Kowalski who temporarily steps away from techno to deliver two beautifully crafted electro tracks.

Alexander Kowalski has been producing and performing since 1997, often fusing elements from classic Detroit to historical Berlin techno in his music, which has appeared most prolifically on Kanzleramt, as well as Different (PIAS), Tronic, Propaganda, Factor City and many more including his own label, Damage Music Berlin formed in 2009.

‘DGTSU’ is a hard-hitting but at the same time melodious electro track with glittering retro elements sweeping alongside modern production techniques, while ‘Connected’ brings a moody timbre that’s dark and atmospheric.  Both tracks are a testament to Kowalski’s skilful approach to music.

Check out rising techno artist Joshua Calleja's newest EP "Saint of Revenge" premiere on 6AM. Hailing from the Mediterranean island nation of Malta, Calleja is certainly repping the small, but local scene of techno artists putting their mark on the global stage. Producing & performing since he was 14 years old, Calleja's productions captivate with a groovy and deep sound combined with influences from certain tech house and minimal sub genres. 

Calleja enjoys creating a unique mixture of minimalism and club techno, meaning his audience is far-reaching. He has released on labels such as Innocent Music, Patent Skillz, Panterre Musique, Egothermia, Tentacles Recordings, HardCutz, Toowls, Roovestar, and now, Northern Parallels.

Calleja's hypnotic techno track "Fear of Time" gets a somber remix from Gabriella Vergilov, while the titular track "Saint of Revenge" gets an upbeat dancefloor treatment from Mike Derer.

@Thought-Criminal-1 is a multi-genre DJ, but she is best known for energetic vinyl mixes of bouncy industrial/acid/oldskool techno.
She is resident and co-founder of Aberdeen’s Fierce Collective, a group who promote other womxn/nb DJs and producers and nurture those wanting to learn. Thought Criminal hosts the Fierce Collective radio show 8-10pm, second Monday of the month on www.mixhitradio.co.uk, and is a resident on Fierce on FNOOB every 4th Wednesday on www.fnoobtechno.com. Both shows feature womxn and nb DJs and producers of all genres from around the world, with a complimentary mix from Thought Criminal.  
Thought Criminal organises the Fierce club nights in Aberdeen, which combine womxn and nb DJs with live art.  She is a resident at Aberdeen's Binary School/Binary Trax- a club night and label showcasing local electronic music producers and also at Aphrodite, Aberdeen's queer dance party. Sadly, along with the DJ skill-shares, all these nights are on a long pause due to Covid-19, but Thought Criminal is a healthcare worker so she’s kinda busy at the moment anyway!

Opening via the slow-blooming builds and atmospheric and waves of ‘Black Mirror’, before diving into the heady and menacing tones of ‘Mutant Circle’, the ten-track project quickly showcases a wide-reaching range of influences and nuances central to Agnelli’s development as an artist over his career. Productions such as ‘Balance’ and ‘Oxigen’ contrast with one another whilst bringing space to proceedings, guided by breaks-influenced percussion, minimal arrangements and warping leads, whilst the driving ‘Resistance’ harnesses classic techno tendencies to provide an energetic and lively, snaking journey through rich soundscapes.
Title cut ‘Source Drops’ brings that trademark Luca Agnelli energy to the heart of the project, merging scintillating melodies, acid-tinged stabs and icy hats to unveil a high-octane ride into the peak-time, whilst ‘Raw Surface’ keeps the tempo high with sweeping leads, oscillating basslines and resonant lasers. Next, ‘Omega’ spirals into an off- kilter ride through glitchy echoed vocals, crunchy percussion and rumbling low-ends, with the epic ‘Losing Control’ welcoming an infectious lead melody at its core guided by punchy kicks and slick drum licks. Michel Lauriola is a Venezuelan producer and DJ based in Buenos Aires (Argentina). The city's electronic scene has witnessed his evolution over the years, resulting in a very rhythmic and deep techno artist. After 20 years of career, Lauriola has become a well-known producer and has edited for labels such as: Faut Section, Materia, Polegroup / Aine, Gynoid, Children of Tomorrow, Suara, Out of Place, Blackrod, Animal Farm and more.
