This album is a collaboration between Gallery Six (sound), D.R. Taylor (artwork) and EiramsAccord (essential oils).

The title is derived from a common expression “catch the flavor of the original”. It is in the things we see and hear without thinking that something important, forgotten and despised, lies hidden. It is just like unraveling the sourcebook. I produced this album in the hope that actually coming into contact with the disparaged sounds, flowers, and scents of these objects themselves will make us more aware of what is important and provide us with an opportunity to reconsider.

6. SOLID - LIQUID

For example, on a cold winter night, icicles form on the eaves of my house. If the next morning is sunny and warm, the icicles will naturally melt and become water. However, it would be almost impossible to define exactly how much of it is ice and how much is water.

In this way, nature is constantly changing, not on a second-by-second basis, but on a much finer time scale. In fact, there is probably very little that we can perceive with any precision.

If you listened to this track while working on some task, you would not notice that what started out as a solid has turned into a liquid. No, even if you listened intently with headphones on, it would be impossible to pinpoint the point at which the solid turns into a liquid.

This is the world in which we live.

アートスペース研究の一環で仲町の家に遊びにいきました。朝１０時の待ち合わせまで少し時間がありましたので、ちょうど入口前にあった仲町氷川神社ですこし休憩。池の水音、朝の街音、電車の音等が聞こえます。東京下町の朝のしっとりとした雰囲気に聴き入ります。

TOKENアートセンター高村さんにお話を聞きに曳舟まで行きました。駅東口の上海楼で昼食を食べみんなと別れた後、腹ごなしも兼ねて少し街を歩くことにしました。もう一つのアートスポットの方面に向かって歩いているはずが反対方向にあるいていました。ちょうど町内で行われていたお祭りに遭遇しました。東京下町のお祭りは５月－６月にと少し早めの開催です。むかし、八丁堀にアトリエのあった大学の先生から話があり、町内の水掛け祭り神輿を担いだ若き日の街の匂いを思い出しました。
