Rocky IV - Hearts On Fire

This song “Cheer Down” is a (cover) tribute too and composed by George Harrison.
Almost 4 years ago, Hemmo and John recorded (and released) the Japanese album version:

We wanted to do it all over again, and checked all 7 versions we could find on the net, and on the rarity track’s album Jeff Lynne released, 2 versions stood out for us, and we choose the UK single version to redo / record all over again from scratch, we might do the (rare extended) orchestral version later on as well.

This song is also know as theme-song on the soundtrack for the movie “Lethal Weapon 2”, it turned up on the teasers (promotions) for the film unexpectedly, but was recognized as such afterwards.
Cheer Down was created during a jam session between George Harrison and Tom Petty who both wrote the lyrics on an idea (composition) George already had, as a country rock song, but it ended up on the shelf as it didn’t sounded the way it is now, only when Jeff Lynne heard this rough version, George and Jeff decided to re-arrange it as this version now, Jeff continued making / mixing down more different versions.
George wife Olivia came up with the title of the song, with her saying: : "Okay, cheer down, big fellow," when he would get too enthusiastic”.

It’s not known how this song ended up as a soundtrack too, it might have to do with what Jeff Lynne already did for the movies “Xanadu” and “Electric Dreams”, it was decided after the final cut editing of the movie. 
In an interview, George said the song sounded completely different after Jeff started working with it.

While we were listening to all those different versions, Hemmo and John noticed how many different harmonies were used to complete them, even the instruments sounded and were played differently from each other, it took us 16 different mixes to get this version to both our satisfaction, but to get it right we had to replay and record all the tracks all over again from scratch, also to get all the harmonies sound good too.
When all the tracks were done, the mixing process started, but this time we multi-layered them instead of using volume and panning additions, and still have this (clear) massive power, we hope you all like it too.
We always have big fun working together, and Hemmo’s talent is well known to most of you, making music is fun again for us both, especially remaking all these earlier releases we’ve done in a new coat, and this time as a band effort with Euphoriqa, we hope the other guys will join us some day soon too.
As said before, making music must be fun, and we’re so happy Hemmo found it back again too.

Euphoriqa is a band formed by 4 talented musicians combining each his own specialty and skills to create music like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin Queen etc., but they also experiment with other music styles, and wont limit themselves to any specific music.
