Since the release of her 2013 breakout Pushin’ Against A Stone, June has been patiently at work in the garden of song, nurturing seedlings with love and care into the lush bloom that is her stunning new album, The Order Of Time. Some songs grew from seeds planted more than a decade ago, others blossomed overnight when she least expected them to, but every track bears the influence of time. See, time has been on June’s mind a lot lately. It’s the only constant in life, even though it’s constantly changing. It’s the healer of all wounds, the killer of all men. Much like songbird Edith Piaf, Madeleine Peyroux spent her teenage years busking the busy streets of Paris. Just like the ‘little sparrow’, Madeleine befriended the city’s street musicians and made its Latin quarter her first performing stage. Years later, Peyroux would cite iconic Piaf as an influence on her music and record a rendition of the classic La Vie En Rose, soulfully capturing the tune’s romanticism and melancholy.
 
Born in Athens, Georgia in 1974, Madeleine “grew up in a house filled with music” and from an early age “instinctively realised music’s soothing power” but it was her teenage years in the French capital that turned the childhood notion into an all-consuming vocation for life.

Young Madeleine moved to Paris with her mother in 1987 following her parents divorce. “To soothe me during the upheaval”, she recalls, “I was given a guitar and took to playing in the streets almost immediately.”

Thirty years after her formative busking days Peyroux is the proud curator of nine beguiling albums and an accomplished performer with sell out worldwide tours under her belt. Her atmospheric version of Serge Gainsborough’s La Javanaise was used in the soundtrack of Oscar Winner The Shape of Water and her countless accolades
include the coveted BBC International Artist Of The Year honour.
 
Madeleine’s thirst for creative exploration is unfading and her willingness to face creative challenges remains as solid now as it was three decades ago.

With endearing passion and great curiosity the unstoppable genre-defying virtuoso continues her search for the good and examines life with the treasured William Congreve belief that Music has charms to soothe the savage beast.
 
Madeleine might attribute her success to “mostly luck” but to the industry and loyal fans alike, it is the immense talent and utter dedication to her craft that shines through.

From the Royal Albert Hall to Nashville, Tennessee, audiences have fallen in love with Lesley's pure, heartwarming vocals and winning personality. Her highly melodic songs mix elements of folk, pop and blues, creating a distinct, individual and classic sound. Lesley’s compositions can be heart-rendingly poignant (“Missing”, “Too Bad”) or hilariously vituperative such as the “Mr Sad”. All of her so...ngs demonstrate an old-fashioned command of melody that means her music will endure once lesser talents have hung up their capos.

A large part of Lesley’s appeal resides in her on-stage charm and humour. She enchanted sold-out audiences at the Sage Gateshead and the Warwick Arts Centre when she played there in November 2009 in support of firstly, young acoustic talent John Smith and then the platinum-selling jazz chanteuse Madeleine Peyroux. All available CDs were sold-out as listeners demanded more of the sweetly narcotic effect of Lesley’s crystalline vocals.

Her career follows years of live experience, both solo and in bands, which also saw her sharing a stage with The Golden Silvers, Mama's Gun, ex-Fratelli outfit Codeine Velvet Club and The Joy Formidable, and her talent has also been acknowledged with opening performances for Katie Melua and Ben Howard and (imminently) KT Tunstall and Martin & Eliza Carthy. After winning “Demo of the Month” in NARC magazine in November 2009, a successful A&R showcase in Notting Hill early in 2010 led to further interest in Lesley’s music. This resulted in a tour of Britain and Ireland in the spring of 2010 supporting Don “American Pie” McLean. En route Lesley acquired a new army of followers with a series of mature performances in some of the UK’s grandest venues, including the world-famous Royal Albert Hall. The Newcastle Journal compared her performance at the Sage Gateshead favourably with that of the American great, remarking upon Lesley’s “extraordinarily pure and crystal clear voice”. The Bournemouth Echo described Lesley as both “excellent and amusing”.

After regular sell-outs of her first E.P, her eagerly anticipated first album, “Way We Are” was released in October 2010, with a live recording following in July of this year. This live concert recording featured a 7-piece band performing a set that showcases both Lesley's excellent arranging skills and also her easy rapport with an audience.

Lesley has just returned from a five week tour of Nashville, Tennessee, a trip funded entirely by donations from her devoted fans. As well as performing her songs at some of the most prestigious singer-songwriter nights in the U.S, Lesley recorded a 4- track E.P with top local session musicians. The results are now available to buy and download on iTunes and demonstrate a country-tinged edge to Lesley's ever-melodic compositions.

alt-J are one of the most successful British bands of the millennium. Their 2012 Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Award-winning debut An Awesome Wave, was followed two years later by their number one, GRAMMY and BRIT Award-nominated album This Is All Yours. Released in 2017, RELAXER flew straight into the top 10 of the UK album chart ahead of a summer of major international shows - including a headline show at London’s O2 Arena and headline performances at numerous festivals - and became their second album to be nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Boards of Canada is a Scottish electronic music duo comprised of brothers Mike Sandison (b. 1 June 1970) and Marcus Eoin (b. 21 July 1971). 

They have released a number of works, most notably Music Has the Right to Children and Geogaddi, with little advertising and few interviews. Their sound has frequently made reference to sounds of the 1970s and the 1980s. It recalls, amongst other things, the warm, scratchy, artificial sounds of 1970s television, and indeed, band members Michael and Marcus admit to being inspired by the documentary films of the National Film Board of Canada, from which the group's name comes.
