Tom Findlay (Groove Armada) - Yacht Rock Meat Mix

I wanted to do this one for a long time. All my favourite softrock classics in one continous mix, spiced up with some genre-like tunes from the here and now. 
While traveling on a german train the other day, apperently lightning struck (the sky was blue as far as I could see) causing the train to stop for several hours out in the open. While lynch mob parties began to form with the intention to take it out on the conductor, I was still mixing away with my headphones on and a stupid smile on my face - quite out of context actually. In fact I go so into it that I almost forgot to get of at Berlin main station. 
So here it is, hope you have as much fun listening as I had putting it togehter.

Lightning On A Train Extension

Für die Ewigwachgebliebenen zum Feierabendbier, für die Frühaufsteher als Seelenfutter zum Wochenbeginn: Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise. Alles erlaubt, was gut tut und Gedanken kreisen lässt, nur der Name ist Programm: cremig, fluffig und ganz schön weich.

Wie die Zeit verfliegt liegt wiedermal in klappenden Kinnladen und veröffneten Augen, ungläubig gerieben, denn sieben - äh - vier Jahre Sorbetverrührung sind mittlerweile in's Land gezogen. Ein guter Anlass, um endlich und endlich den beiden wohlgepflegten Süßberts aus Berlin ganz montäglich die Hand zu schütteln: Hose auf for the Godfathers of Chords, @Duererstuben.

Surpriiiiiise. Quite unexpectedly the recording of my set @ Seebühne resurfaced. Contains a few minor glitches and also is bit shorter than I recalled but what the heck. So here it goes! Thnx to all the crazies that found their way down to Seebühne @ 05.30 in the morning. And to the Ambisonic boyz for spicing it up (unfortunately those chasin' sounds can't be heard on the recording). Ok, not exactly sure what happened here but I definitely lost track of time on that rainy afternoon. 2 decks and a (iPhone) microphone later I came up with this 3,5h vinyl only mix that starts off in the left-field trance section and then spirals down the rabbit hole towards more dub filled, tech and deep house-ish areas. Anyway it's been a trip, as u can tell from the look of the wave form. So book me and u too shall be set free :-)

What started off as a joke mix somehow became way too enjoyable not to share.  Guilty pleasures, yacht rock, and all the schmaltz you can swallow!  I like to call these songs Supermarket Sweepers or Elevator Jumpoffs - since those are the 2 places you're most likely to hear this kind of crap.  This is the type of music that makes you roll up your windows at the traffic light, and could instantly destroy that street cred you've been working so hard to attain.  You've been warned, now listen at your own risk.  Stay Smooth!
