Based in Manchester, @pod_imiya plays a mix of jungle and drum n bass styles from all eras, dropping in hardcore, IDM and sped-up electro. Pod Imiya’s sets are usually centred around rough breaks with dark but uplifting selection.

Starting out as a regular DJ at Hit & Run, she quickly went on to play at nights across the UK such as Rupture, License to Jungle, Chicken Shop Events and Sheffield-based night Anomalies, which showcases the wonkier side of 170bpm.

Temptations is track which goes away from my normal genres but goes back to styles which originally inspired me to listen to electronic music.

Moose, 24, is a fresh-faced, aspiring DJ/Producer that recently touched down in Bristol in search of a scene. Having moved from a part of the midlands that lacked one, he primarily bolstered profile via online means.

From occasional gigs, to residencies with stations like Voices & Mode, to having mixes hosted by various online platforms like Frequencies & BlueDollarBillz, he looked to remain proactive in mixing. Now in Bristol, he’s jumped in headfirst and found footing, playing events on the local underground circuit.



In the studio, he’s explored both emulating and experimenting in the production of Breaks-driven tracks, landing releases with Profound Sound, Solitude and DREDCOL amongst others.

Moose has spent his formative producing years beginning to craft a sound; With forthcoming productions seeing the light of day via platforms like Keep Hush, BBC Introducing and SWU.

Moose’s style of mixing focuses on dynamic blends: Digital or vinyl, he looks to keep the mix moving consistently & pushing a variety of percussive sounds, both classic & contemporary.

After finding a strong footing across the spectrum of UKG, Breaks & Jungle, he’s more recently stepped into early 00s Breakbeat, Leftfield Bass, Electro and other percussion-driven bass music in both his live sets & radio shows.

Digging into the past means facing what shaped us, processing the wounds that marked our path, and learning to forgive what hurt us — so we can finally move forward and bring evolution and light back into our lives.
This piece is rooted in my personal experience and in the long process of understanding and transforming the presence of alcoholism within my family during my childhood and youth.
It is a reminder of how easy it is to fall into habits that slowly turn us into slaves, eroding everything made of light and love around us, dragging us deeper into the darkest corners of the human soul.
This track is not just sound — it is memory, shadow, awareness, and release.

In  many  ways,  it’s  difficult  to  believe  Wehbba  only  dropped  his  first  full-length  EP  on  Drumcode  this  year.  Released  in  February,  the  four-tracker  ‘Eclipse’  was  a  monster  statement  piece  of  the  Brazilian’s  talents  and  followed  on  superbly  from  ‘Fake’,  his  contribution  to  last  year’s  A-Sides  Vol.6  –  inarguably  one  of  the  biggest  tracks  on  the  compilation.  With  the  confirmation  that  Wehbba  will  take  part  in  Drumcode’s  Off  Week  party  in  Barcelona,  followed  by  the  brand’s  takeover  of  Resistance  in  Ibiza,  it’s  indisputable  proof  that  his  crisp,  chord-driven  take  on  techno  has  become  a  vital  component  to  the  expansive  palette  of  sound  Adam  Beyer  has  drawn  for  the  label  in  2018  and  beyond.    

‘Catarse’  marks  the  rapid-fire  follow-up  from  the  prolific  producer.  Opening  with  the  eerie  ‘She  Lost  Control’,  Wehbba  says  he  took  inspiration  from  the  Joy  Division  track  of  almost  the  same  name  (‘She’s  Lost  Control’),  but  instead  of  crafting  the  dense  sonic  atmosphere  with  vocals,  he  employs  an  analogue  kick  drum  and  stealth-like  moog  bass  with  dramatic  results.  ‘Process’  follows,  a  cut  which  begun  as  a  cover  jam  of  Laurent  Garnier’s  ‘Crispy  Bacon’and  ends  up  incorporating  the  cut-up  vocals  of  legendary  minimal  composer  Steve  Reich,  who  is  one  of  Wehbba’s  chief  inspirators.  The  resulting  track  is  an  ice-cool  percussive  work  that’s  rich  in  dancefloor  functionalism.  The  title  track  will  befamiliar  to  many  who  follow  Drumcode  Radio,  a  goose-bump  inducing  highlight  of  Beyer’s  DCR392  at  Awakenings  in  Eindhoven,  ‘Catarse’  is  driven  by  a  memorable  melodic  riff  resplendent  in  90’s  techno  euphoria.  The  EP  concludes  with  the  terrific  ‘Mind  Awake’,  a  powerful  concoction  of  reverb  heavy  basslines  and  glitchy  effects,  that’s  been  thoroughly  road  tested  by  both  Beyer  and  Wehbba  and  kicks  like  a  rodeo  bull.

After a year of isolation in the studio, Selective Response is now ready to present his work to the world, starting with a release comprised two tracks. Part one, a four-on-the-floor, no-nonsense techno number titled Scorched Earth Policy, built from the ground up to push the tempo and energy of the room to the next level. Although simplistic in format, the razor-sharp synth line creates an air of urgency and angst, with an equally punishing kick drum that holds it all together.

Part two, a free download by the name of 'Weekend At Nik's', is a cut of brutal industrial electro named after one of his close friends. Influenced by the likes of The Prodigy and illegal warehouse raves, mixed with high energy thrash, the track is as fun and energizing as it is punishing.

HANDS proudly welcomes one of the hottest acts on the current industrial techno circuit. The Toronto based duo MDD is the alliance of techno producers Measure Divide and Dolgener, who pursue a distinct passion together: The dark and dirty and intensely rhythmic “Reverse The Contrast” is a collection of tracks that defines their diversity and ability to express their aggressive, distorted, and edgy sound reflecting on today's maddening world. Discover old and new school industrial influences in a very unique combination, laid out with highly skilled pro- duction in ten tracks around the 6-minute mark, food for thought and pure physical stimulus at the same time, contemporary club grub galore.
What started with intense recording sessions in 2015 became a live act in 2017, which has led MDD to perform alongside the likes of Orphx, Ancient Methods and Perc already; and in 2018 they have released two 12” vinyls to great acclaim. While industrial and techno have crossed over massively in recent years, from both camps, the question may arise, how does one add something new to the style? MDD succeed in nailing that objective, with an album that oozes euphoria and authenticity – with an innovative combination of sounds: From their techno heritage they take the rhythmic clue, a relentless, capturing backbone laced with substantial groove. And at the same time, they pay due respect to industrial traditions that by far precede the crossover wave of recent years: Tracks like “Crushed”, “Underlight” or “Valium” focus on unadulterated rhythms and noise chops with big washes of distortion; “Breath”, “Dives” and “Submission (featuring AADJA)” feature actual, albeit heavily treated vocals, and addictive melody hooks, thus even hinting at the times when tracks were actual songs. But there’s reconciliation at hand - “Grind” or “Second Injection” reveal their techno heritage through the whipping snare sounds and thumpy kick drums. And then it’s all in the same way head-nodding, stomping goodness. Contrast and reversal, past and present, MDD play with seeming antipodes and achieve something ultimately enjoyable!

When Sun People played at the record release party for his "Stumble & Grow EP" in Berlin in January 2020, Provoke sent him some beats via e-mail. So when we just finished breakfast the day after the party Simon played them in my kitchen via his phone. And man, i can tell you i was already hooked by Provoke's sound just by the sound coming out of this iphone speakers! He's a wizard when it comes to fast drums and agile percussions. I approached him via soundcloud and he sent me a WIP version of "The World" a few hours later. This was exactly the tune i was hoping for and i am very happy to have him on the line up for this compilation!
