His constant output of critically acclaimed work, over nearly twenty years, has contained some of the biggest tracks this genre has ever spawned. Both sides of this release are already instantly recognisable to most discerning and non-discerning fans and both will no doubt become future classics, just as you might anticipate from Dom's first Metalheadz outing. 

'Unofficial Jah' draws inspiration from Goldie's ground-breaking seminal 1995 album 'Timeless'. Crafting the recognisable elements toward a direction that perfectly fits the track's title. Dom stamps his unmistakable champion sound into a Goldie classic, creating a truly heavyweight, dubbed out reconstruction of epic proportions. 

'Outta Endz' perfectly completes an essential release with a piece of music that has been destroying dance floors and leaving people setting all the regular forums and club convo’s alight with the question “What is that Outta London vocal tune!?” It's intro pads leading up to a stuttered repeated cry of “Straight Outta London” before dropping into a track so big it's practically an instant rewind. Truly a 'must have' piece of vinyl. 

To finish off the release, the stunning sleeve art fittingly depicts a new take on the classic Metalheadz logo, the lion has awoken! Let Jah be praised!

Snare Charm (Hospital Records - We Are 18)

Damon Kirkham likes an alias, that much is clear. Formerly one half of Instra:mental (along with Al 'Boddika' Green), he operated as Kid Drama , before employing the Jon Convex moniker around the time the duo split around 2011. Details of the split remain sparse to this day, but what is apparent is that the sepration hasn't stopped the flow of quality music being released by Kirkham. Always operating with a sonic pallete that took note from, but didn't exclusively sitck to, Drum n Bass, he's now focusing on his output as Kid Drama, teaming up with former Autonomic collaborator d-Bridge as Heart Drive for a series of podcasts and some new material. With the podcasts focusing on a glitchy half-step and synth heavy electronica, it would appear Heart Drive is a new exciting chapter in Kirkham's perennially forward facing musical career.

Tracklist free, Hyp 165 takes in all facets of Kirkham's career, travelling from his Autonomic days to the present day revival of Kid Drama. Jungle, Footwork, Half-Step and DnB all fit in seamlessly as Kirkham keeps the quality throughout for an hour's worth of music that refuses to sit still for a single second.

When I arrived at the club I was shocked about what was going on there...

Tokyo’s Heavy1 scoops up top-drawer tech-roller skunks Craggz & Parallel for his new Yabai 84 project, and result is a typically tough yet pleasingly funky nugget of bashy tech filth. Face-slapping snares slam down amid gristly, scurrilous mid-range warpings, yet the knotty synths are laced with a bouncy, bullfrogging bass melody that burps and parps along in fine dancefloor style. Check the flip for Heavy1’s own efforts: a stop-start technoid percussion trip that rattles and jars off to infinity.

NU and Jo Ke under the name "Feathered Sun". Unfortunately Raz Ohara who also belongs to the Feathered Sun has been missing for this one :-( 
That Sunday (April 7th) we spent in Brasilia rounded off the amazing weekend in the smoothest and nicest way we could imagine.
