Italian-born, Berlin-based electronic producer Erta Ale makes a beautiful racket. And he does using only his army of analog machines — an approach he calls ‘DAWless’, referring to his lack of a computer-based sequencer in his setup. The result is wonderfully organic music, as exemplified on his new EP for Exploited Ghetto, ‘Dirty Fingers’.
Across three tracks of sprawling, spontaneous, electronic breakbeat jazz, he sets out his musical manifesto. The title track is a dreamy, warm affair where squelching synth stabs filter up and down over a stuttered beat, fizzing chords and a hard-working, relentless bassline that dances incessantly. ‘Cosmic Jazz’ lets those keys go haywire, discordant electric piano noodling jarring against undulating bassline progressions and a shuffling broken beat, finding the sweet spot between relentless groove and chaotic expressionism. ‘Plastic Bones’ completes this unpredictable trio with thick sub bass drops, a tribal rhythm and a hypnotic chime arpeggiation that unfolds into an afro-jazz masterpiece.
This is a rare digital outing for the mostly vinyl-only artist, who has other material this year on the 7th instalment of DJ International’s legendary ‘Jackmaster’ compilation, and Alinka’s Twirl Recordings, not to mention his own Solenoid label.

Jonny Sriraxa & Luci B's indomitable sonic system, Nostalgia Futura is a project born during the first confinement period in Madrid, Spain, at the peak of the Covid-19 crisis. The overwhelming sensations of physical, social, and emotional detention painted the horizon with a nostalgic hue..."so we felt a certain type of nostalgia for this particular future..." And now, in their sets and performances, Jonny Sriraxa and LuciB aim to transmit the entirety of that accumulated energy through rhythms oriented towards the dance floor--evoking reflection through motion-- and flowing across a variety of genres, histories, and influences that fuse the old, new, and still-evolving.

He grew up with the music of many influence from Synth, Nu Wave,Punk, Indie and early Dance culture, key stand outs thou Chicago House and Detroit Techno. A huge shout out to my mentor and great friend Paul who inspired and enlightened me since late 80's the magic and importance of electronic music; thank you Paul. After arriving in NewYork in the early 90's after graduation in Architectural Graphic design, cutting his teeth in A multi culture with many influences. This vibe influenced his sense of rhythm and energy which is felt in his selection and passion for good Music. Having a broad but particular range which has something else within a very provocative and unique sound moving with eternal yet an earthy journey. Buying 12" from the initial providers such as Submerge Detriot. Worked in the Music business for many years with BPM records as a buyer of all Electronic/House/Techno with a major focus on these genres and 12" Vinyl as a media. 

Playing DJ gigs in Ireland, UK, Europe in the early days having a few regular and Irregular slots ultimately a residency at South Club Tramore. 
GBN is always drawn to the evolution of Music in its many forms and keeps the freshness and energy alive as it moves into the 21st Century.

Solenoid boasts an extensive catalog of releases in both vinyl and digital formats, spanning from house music to techno. More recently, the focus has shifted to 90s techno and progressive house with influences of trance and acid.

Solenoid regularly showcases its artists through the parties which has already taken place at Renate, Golden Gate and Zur Klappe in Berlin. The goal of Solenoid and its artists is to promote quality rave music, both in productions and primarily in vinyl sets presented by the roster of its artists.

The label's design is curated by the illustrator Tara Deacon and visual artist Riccardo Bernardi, also known as ACONITE.
