This album has been a long time in the works, with several of the tracks being started as WIPs during/before the production of Nostalgiarithm. It's more funk and jazz influenced than that album as well, especially toward the second half.

The first release of the year from Hot Trax comes from the German duo Raumakustik, with Jamie Jones on remix duty. Having had recent releases on a Grain Audio, Ipoly & Mangue Records, “Raider” is their debut on the Hot Creations subsidiary.

Raumakustik deliver a high energy and rhythmic track with ‘Raider’. The industrial tech-heavy sounds are perfectly mixed with catchy drums and a calling bell. Over on the B-side, Jamie Jones delivers a darker remix to drive music lovers to the dancefloor.

Sebastian and Volker are Raumakustik. They have been creating music together for a number of years and believe in creating tracks that will not only bring listeners to the dancefloor but also stay in their memory.

Jamie Jones launched Hot Trax in 2012 after wanting to create a label that moved away from the well-known and popular sounds of Hot Creations. It has been described as a label for the “headstrong” with previous releases coming from Patrick Topping and wAFF.

Midlands pair Chris Lorenzo and Kane are the guys behind Cause & Affect, the duo making dynamite bass tunes. 

Just so you know what they're about, head to their SoundCloud, click 'play' on 'Get To The Chopper' and turn your speakers right up. It's outrageous and if it was a weapon, a rocket launcher springs to mind. 

Another recent addition to SoundCloud is the Jamie George-featuring 'Another Time', out on Fat! Records later this month and featuring remixes from My Nu Leng collaborator Taiki Nulight and Sinden among others.

We've got the premiere of Tejada's edit and this one is aimed firmly at the warehouse. His re-imagining features giant piano chords, outrageous low-end rumbles and claps that bring a whole lotta groove. It's a track that when dropped at 4am would do serious damage. Check it.

Each track has chunky drums that are laced with insanely catchy vocal hooks that keep the tracks and give them each a distinguishable character. The energy throughout the single is always kept up with the sweeping pads and stabs adding a dynamic flavour and showing us why Tiger Stripes is at the top of his game.

Krankbrother return to their new label after opening up the imprint’s account earlier this year.  Two new tracks from the London party brothers then, showing off two differing shades of their musical dexterity.

‘When You’re Watching Me’ is a fully formed Summer belter, with Krankbrother ticking all the boxes required for a modern day, sunrise dance classic.

A thunderous sub-bass line booms over delicate drums, the percussion lightly soaked in reverb as the filters open and close on the soft & melodic arpeggiated riffs.  All the hallmarks of a classic piece of euphoric electronica are here, best exemplified by the syrupy female vox and Balearic tones, and a hefty breakdown that really ramps up the drama.  Shades of the 90’s big guns like Underworld and Fluke are here, but perhaps more in the grandiose style in which ‘When You’re Watching Me’ has been delivered, either way, it’s most certainly one of Krankbrother’s best to date.

Accompanying track, ‘Washed Up’ has its feet firmly in familiar Krankbrother territory.  A rolling, jackin’ house track packed with energy and vitality.  Chopped vocals are put through the FX mangle and the titanic drums power through in a simple, yet highly effective looping track, echoing the very best of Strictly Rhythm/Armand Van Helden joints from yesteryear.

Krankbrother’s ‘When You’re Watching Me’ is released on Krankbrother on 3rd August 2015 on digital download.

The crunchy drum track elements push the track forwards inspired by the warmth of vintage tape recordings. Bell Trax is gimmick free 4/4 club music! The b-side Smoking Causes Blindness keeps with this warm saturated feel laid out by the lead track. Utilising a chunky rolling bass line and a crisp synth pad this track will burn through frequencies if you're not careful. Anchored in the breakdowns with an inquisitive vocal asking 'thats what this is all about, right?' before the low end kicks back in and answers the question for you.
