Here we go with our very first exclusive premiere and we've got a corker to get things rolling. Venezuelan duo Fur Coat have kindly given us the first play of the title track from their forthcoming EP 'There's No Time', which is coming out on Jamie Jones' ever popular Hot Creations label.

This new track is a perfect example of their love affair with the sleazier side of house music, razor sharp synth lines cascade over a hefty set of percussion and a rumbling, morose b-line while a pitched-down, barely audible vocal lurks in the background. Hot stuff we're sure you'll agree. You can get your copy of the cut from the 31st of March.

Full Premiere: Fur Coat - There's No Time (Original Mix)

The last AMAM release of the year comes just in time for the holidays, and like Santa Claus, we are handing out some goodies for the DJs on our “nice” list. OK, for the naughty ones, too! Hand Out Chapter Five compiles ten brisk and icy tech-house tracks from six different artists, both familiar faces and newcomers. 

The first moments of “A25ALL”, by producer Sloan, combine frosty, dubbed out ambience with jazzed-out percussion fills before the 4/4 beat beckons you onto the dancefloor. “R” shows a more straightforward, menacing techno side. Then Bolumar from Valencia shows his wildly playful approach toward house music with “Maleficent” and “Beggins”, sounding like frisky droids in heat. 

Our dependable Sardinian roster member 000 resurfaces with two tracks that offer a garden of sonic textures: the cavernous and synthetic “Trk5” and “Trk6”. North American partnership Sakro and Max Jacobson offer two versions of the appropriately titled “7am Feelings”, the chic and seductive original as well as Sakro’s stripped-down, piano-laced “Afterhours Mix”. Finally, Italy’s Relock makes the closing statements with the steamy and streamlined “1am” and the dusky, industrial “Red Brick Wall”. Happy Holidays and see you in 2015!

With the backing of a legend like globetrotting Dutch DJ and producer Joris Voorn, it is only natural to expect a lot from Toronto-based producer Daniel Dubb's debut album. Luckily, Daniel delivers on those expectations, as Pieces of the Past is a thoughtful, forward-thinking take on modern dance music and has been touted as some of his most mature music to date. In advance of the release, lead single "Pound For Pound" got some early support and praise from a long list of world-renowned DJs including Nicole Moudaber, Tensnake, and James Zabiela.

Daniel Dubb is recognized as one of Canada’s most exciting underground house artists, and the album, as Daniel tells it, has been influenced by some of the most meaningful moments of his past, which is easy to feel with the emotional journey this full length album delivers. The production has a slow-burning, ethereal vibe that showcases the artist’s masterful ability to create breathlessly slow builds and releases of tension alongside tender, beautiful melodies.

Athens based artist Analog Trip (Kosmas Katimertzis, born 1972) Is owner of Elektrik Dreams Music Label ( www.elektrikdreamsmusic.com ) At the early age of 17 the young artist experimented with monophonic analog synthesizers, drumcomputers and vinyl , playing at local bars, and while studying at university a few years later, he became part of an Electro group called VCF, already known for their live gigs at Athens popular clubs Factory, DOM and the Wild Rose.Officially entered in the electronic scene in 1996 along with George Moog with a CD which was circulated 25.000 times by a for that period well known Dance magazin (Lemon). How and when did you get into electronic music? 

I got into electronic music at an early age because of my brother Johan & Sister Jenny. Trough the years i have gone trough the most electronic genres. As long as it`s good music i don`t care about genre :)

Which musical moments have been espescially memorable to you? 

It`s must be the first early morning i started producing , December 2012. Still remember it very clear that i know i was hooked :) Since then it`s been a daily routine.

Which plans do you have for the future?

My plan is to improve myself ,my sound and my knowledge of music and other stuff in general. I always compete against myself and i always want to improve me as a person and my music.

If you could choose to play at any venue in the world, which place would it be?
 
I see myself as 90 % Producer and / 10 % DJ :) Im still in the early stages of my DJ career i think so ask me again in a year or two i might have an answer :) . I think i need to DJ to improve me as a producer so i will combine the two and see what i can make of it :). To me music is an essential thing , and to be able to make music brings me a lot of joy and makes me feel good :)

"Pyramid" is the peak time pleaser of the release, a proper 3am monster designed to create mayhem on the dancefloor. The touching "Hydre Intime“ will more likely find its place in the morning, while the dubby "Walking & Waiting“ is a genuine warm-up tune. A lovely package by a great artist.

To announce the EP, Tiga recently gave a lengthy audio press conference while driving a Turbo company car all the way down to City Hall. A partial transcript follows:

ON THE INSPIRATION

“Living in contemporary society? It’s a joke. But what’s no joke is that rough times call for rough customers, and this EP finds two top techno producers in the mood for ballsiness, reflecting the times with a harder-edged sound, harder-edged artwork, and harder-edged calls for our leaders to remember that the dance floor was built on unity, plurality, and unshacklable animality.”

ON THE TRACK TITLES

“After careful study, we came to the conclusion that the worse the titles, the more ‘techno’ the tracks. A-side ‘Stabbed in the Back’ takes its name from the fact that the track has keyboard stabs in it. Maybe my least favourite title of anything I’ve ever done, which is remarkable considering the runner-up was an unreleased stab-free track called ‘Doctors Without Keyboards.’ ‘Pink Bells’ was originally called ‘The Bells’ but I was told that this guy Geoff had already used it. ‘Nonstop’ got its name from the fact that I was really on a roll with bad titles at the time.”

ON THE CREATIVE PROCESS

“It’s extremely challenging to make instrumental techno with enough of a hook and enough of a funk to stand out, and it’s exponentially more difficult when I know deep down I could make everything alright so easily with just the sound of my voice. We bought a set of Bryan Adams Studio Flash Cards, which instructed us to make the kind of hyper-utilitarian dance tracks we could play in our own DJ sets. Sometimes, even musicians need to be reminded to put themselves first.”

​As Sian gets ready to release his second album ‘Capital Crimewave’ on April 10, the Octopus Recordings label boss sat down with Mixmag to discuss the vision behind the new material, his thoughts on the dance music industry and share a free download of the album’s bonus track.

Following the release of his debut album in 2002, Sian has released numerous dancefloor focused tracks, but has not returned to the album format. The new material is a departure from what many listeners have grown accustomed to and offers a new look at his unique approach to production.

As the new material stands out from the label’s catalogue, Sian revealed that he hopes to reach new fans and give existing ones a new side to his persona: “That’s how I see it going already from promoting this music over the last few weeks. The kind of people that are coming to us are the kind of people who would maybe also listen to Bonobo or Modeselektor. Or just good music in general, not so specific.”

Premiere: Sian 'Cardboard City' [Free Download]

The spanish duo from La Mancha has captured the attention of industry heavyweight curators since their debut on Dirtybird Records with their EP “Mude Tod” late in 2015. Their melodic deep house sound covered with sultry vocals has characterized enigmatic tracks like “Murnau” and “Crosses And Angels” which was selected to be in Tomorrowland’s 2016 CD compilation with their appearance on Belgium’s megafestival.

After launching in October 2015, Lopezhouse has since been on the road through their native Spain and completing a tour in Mexico. While in Tulum, the duo completed their EP which includes “See The Line” and “Encrypted Name” released through Exploited Records. The track includes vocals by their secret weapon, Angela, bringing a dark undertone to the elegantly mixed tracks. Right now, the duo has engagements on both sides of the ocean, EP releases and a few other surprises that will pile on the short and already exceptional trajectory of Lopezhouse. Spanish Vicious Magazine nominated them for Best Artist Revelation and Solomun has been playing one of their upcoming tunes in his sets. 

We are proud to present their second EP on EXPLOITED entitled 'Future In Your Head' which features 3 great indie dance punk funk disco tracks featuring Angela back on vocals. When we first heard the tracks it reminded us a bit of indie rock band 'The Gossip'. Pure class!
