We are glad to present this first limited vinyl release from Niceteed. “Nothing But Pain EP” is an obscure record wrapped by hard and uncompromising dancefloor-oriented raw grooves and punchy low ends. Only 300 copies, gone is gone, no repress.

The title track “Nothing But Pain” has huge rounded kick, violent sub bass and mighty groove elements absorbed inside the reverberated synth stab and vocal, a track which belongs in the peak-moment of every secret rave.
If we consider we also have a more Tech-oriented banger remix by Josh Coakley everything collides on an absolute terrific A-side.

The flip side opens with “Leben”, a tribute track for the crew that Niceteed is part of in his hometown. Here the fast and weighty kick drum hugs the rhythmic components, gritty hi-hats and claps. Everything settles down on the straight and impact synth stab line.
The final track “Ketama Aurea” lead us in the darkest part of this record, a gloomier zone that perfectly fits the end of this EP. Over the baggy kick drum everything is surrounded by the tangled synth melodies, their sounds are intertwined in the mix like arms of ravers in the murkiest warehouse party. Here the melancholic vocal is opposed to the warm bassline that stands out after the breaks in an impressive way.

This week’s edition of the Local Selection Mix is a blistering hour of funky and hard techno from Meda. The young up and comer, keeps the foot on the gas from start to finish, delivering a pounding hour of grooves.

MEDA is a Lithuanian techno DJ influenced by old school rhythms and tempo. Her style and specialty in heavy grooves bring an exciting atmosphere to the dance floor.

MEDA has been attending techno nights in Dublin for many years now and has an extensive knowledge of techno, recently she decided to put this knowledge into the craft of DJing and releasing mixes. MEDA showcases the harder and tougher sides of techno, taking inspiration from acts such as Eric Sneo, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer & more.

Previous show’s with Hidden Love and various mixes on Soundcloud have showcased MEDA’s abilities behind the decks, combining quick and dynamic mixing styles to create an incessant groove.

MEDA’s guest mix for Four Four Mag comes ahead of her debut in The Cellar this Saturday. MEDA pulls out pure fast paced dance floor tools in this hour mix, taking inspiration from the 90’s and 00’s tribal techno. This one is a weapon, get stuck in.

PO FOLK sees Berlin newcomers make a welcome return to Klasse Recordings, their second EP for the label is a stripped to the bone work-out of all killer no filler.

PO FOLK comes in two versions, the 'HATE' version kicks off with distorted kicks and stabs before dropping to a devastating buzzy bassline. Techno and House in equal form, the track is perfect mix of light and dark. Vocals come courtesy of the group themselves, re-voicing a classic track that might be familiar to some.

The 'LOVE' version brings some melody and warmth into play, but still retains all the analogue fuzz and nastiness. MPC style sample cut ups ride the beat and transport the track to another heavy bassline and vocal chat.

Berlin based Panorama Bar favourites, Analogue Cops join the ranks of Klasse Recordings with a unique take on the title track. Playing out as a live jam session, the Restoration Records duo dub out the original parts and turn in a version that is as relentless as it is intriguing. Heavy on the bass and with double the weirdness, their interpretation is sure to cause havoc on any willing dancefloor.

Wrapping up the EP is 'Black Widow', an atmospheric and dynamic track that builds slowly before introducing a huge sub bass. Reduced to only the most essential of parts, 'Black Widow' is sure to play out well in any forward thinking DJ set.
