Flake is an alternative FLAC encoder with "the goal of increasing encoding speed and implementing experimental features". Occasionally, this produces a slightly more optimized FLAC file at the slowest preset (-12), in my experience.

It's probably worth checking to see if SoundCloud can properly decode these encodes, since they aren't done with the reference encoder.
