Here is a recording of a guest mix a I did for Detroit based radio station 313.FM for the show Planet Funk. I decided to take some inspiration from the show's name and dig into my new school disco, electronic funk, and house collection. It features a mixture of new and old tracks, as well as some personal favourite cuts from Detroit producers such as Los Hermanos, and the late K-Hand and Mike Huckaby.

Andrew Wowk - Guest Mix on Planet Funk (313.FM Detroit)

This week we welcome Eora local legend - Andrew Wowk. Andrew Wowk is a DJ, producer, radio host, promoter, and writer who has been active in the Eroa (Sydney) electronic music scene for over fifteen years. First introduced to dance music culture through work experience at community radio station Rhythm FM at age 16, Andrew exudes a passion for and knowledge of music that is the result of years of experience.
As a DJ, Andrew has earned a reputation for refined technical skills and eclectic track selection. His tastes run the gamut of techno, house, breakbeat, drum & bass and jungle, electro, and leftfield electronica. But even with such a wide range of music at his disposal, he finds ways to combine these numerous sounds into a cohesive whole. Often focused more on telling a story or creating a particular feeling with his sets, he regularly moves fluidly across stylistic boundaries, preferring to find other similarities between tracks than just their genre. 

Outside of club DJing, Andrew also produces music under the alias End User License Agreement, which has been released on international labels such as Biotech Recordings and Baroque Recordings, and Australian labels such as Extra Spicy, Communication Records, Monarch Recordings, and Late Night Music.

Omni Music are incredibly proud to once again showcase the immensely talented Arcologies. His skills seem almost super human, able to create incredible compositions seemingly without effort. He has been gaining a lot fans and it's not hard to see why. This LP is a 15 track odyssey of timeless Artcore Jungle and Atmospheric Drum and Bass. From the Jekyll & Hyde opener of 'Beyond the Fog' where delicate melodies give way to ominous stuttering breaks and nervous sounding pads through to the closing shorter piece 'Ask the Stars' with its lively bass and breaks and dreamlike pads, this is another classic in the making. We could almost write a whole essay on each track, but instead we invite you to listen and enjoy, the way they were intended to be.

This one is for Gopi my spirit animal, such a sweet little being who loved laying in the garden listening to the birds but never hurting them . She was always with me in the house wherever I went, she had the biggest purr I’ve ever heard, she was my biggest fan and would lay and listen to me in the mix purring away :) I knew we were on borrowed time after the day it rained all day ( mix on here) when she was diagnosed with metastatic Cancer in Feb 22, I’m only grateful the CBD gave us 18 more months together as the vet said she had a few months to live.

I miss her with all my heart but hopefully mum's looking after her <3
