Expressing myself with words is one of my strengths, yet writing about Mystic Creatures Festival really challenges me, as a part of me is still there. I could not have wished for a better season closure than this weekend at that mystical island alongside so so many friends, some of my favorite artists and a spectecular weather. I was many times in awe with how beautiful this festival and the location were and felt so often immensely blessed and grateful to be a part of it.

This summer was, for me personally, the toughest I have experienced in my adult life.  Since I feel very seen and free as a mystic artist, I took the chance to dive deep into my own process and transform it into art. If you have been listening to my sets so far, then you should be familiar with how the healing power of music expresses itself through me. This time, it really took an unforeseeable depth, which really touched and touches the bottom of my soul. I dedicate this set to my ancestors: I stand upon your shoulders and, without you, I wouldn't be experiencing this miraculous life; may those of you who do no longer live rest in peace, and may those who still breathe enjoy every bit of the life ahead of you 🙏

When I started my set on Sunday at 21:00 in the Tiger's Tent, the dance floor was totally empty. I would lie if I say that didn't get to me. But within just a few minutes it got full, it was so beautiful to see how many people came to see me. There were some technical difficulties with the recording, so I ended up not recording the crowd in the first +- 15 minutes. But I still managed to integrate some crowd interactions to help us feel the energy that took place during my set. It was an experience for all of us who were there, I have no doubt. 

I want to give a huge thanks goes to the organizers, the island owner, the crew and every volunteer who gave their time and energy to make this festival what is was - we made history together. Another huge thanks goes to all the friends and (some of my favorite) artists who came to listen to my set - that's the perfect combination anyone wishes when playing a special festival gig like this one. I so so appreciate the awesome energy you've brought with you, from wild joyfulness to heartfelt tears. Thank you <3

✔️ What are your musical Influences?
Music has been with me my whole life. It started with classical piano, then later came guitar, singing and, since I was 15, mainly playing drums. Accordingly, my musical roots lie more in rock and hip-hop. It wasn't until I was 19/20 that I got into electronic music with electro, DnB and dubstep and it wasn't until my late twenties that my path led me into the house and techno scene. Since then, I've been particularly enthusiastic about downtempo and midtempo as well as various types of house music.

✔️ What makes a good “afterhour”?
A good afterhour is all about the people. A nice relaxed setting, with the right people and then the right sound - for me preferably groovy or bouncy, stimulating but not too heavy and above all effortlessly continuous - is a really nice thing! 🙂

✔️Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?
My live special is from my gig at the Zugvögel Festival 2024, where I'm also part of the crew. I was also allowed to play on the Aheu! floor, which I helped to set up myself, which was a great end to another challenging, but above all wonderful time. My slot was the closing of the Saturday night from 7-9 a.m. I was really excited at the beginning and one or two little mistakes crept in due to the nervousness 🙂 Nevertheless, I really enjoyed being able to play some of my current absolute favourite tracks by some really great artists. And after a while, the excitement was gone and I just had a really good time and a wonderful audience.

Giuliano Rodrigues is a renowned Brazilian DJ and music producer, widely recognized for his significant contributions to the Dub Techno genre. Born with an innate passion for music, Giuliano channeled his talent and creativity to craft a unique and captivating sound that deeply resonates with genre enthusiasts.

In 2012, Giuliano founded his first digital label, **Flowing Movement Music**. Through this label, he not only promoted his own music but also elevated the profile of numerous other artists within the genre. His commitment to sonic excellence and dedication to cultivating a vibrant community of Dub Techno producers and fans have solidified his position as a central figure in the music scene.

In 2020, amid the pandemic, he launched **DUBGIU**, followed by **Afterdub** in 2023 and **DUBLUCID** in 2024—all focused on deep tech, deep house, minimal, and, of course, Dub Techno.

Giuliano has also released tracks on **Lucidflow**, a label founded by Nadja Lind and Helmut Ebritsch, also known as Klartraum. The duo has produced remixes of Giuliano’s tracks, showcasing mutual respect and collaboration within the Dub Techno community. Two of Giuliano’s songs were even played at the iconic **Burning Man** festival. Giuliano also had the opportunity to remix Klartraum's track *"Manifestation"*, which has garnered over 60,000 plays on Spotify.

Additionally, Giuliano was featured on the popular YouTube channel **GENTLEMAN**, which boasts over 400,000 subscribers. In a dedicated video, GENTLEMAN selected ten tracks released by Giuliano under DUBGIU and created a one-hour set featuring his music. The channel also added two of his tracks to its top Spotify playlists.

Giuliano’s music portfolio extends to **Superordinate Dub Waves**, founded by Nae:Tek. He has collaborated with Nae:Tek on several tracks, demonstrating his versatility and ability to synergize with other artists. Most recently, Giuliano released new music on **Piranha Siberia Dub**, continuing to contribute fresh and innovative sounds to the Dub Techno scene.

Through these platforms and collaborations, Giuliano Rodrigues continues to solidify his reputation as a prolific and influential figure in Dub Techno, constantly pushing the genre's boundaries and connecting with a global audience.

Currently, with countless remixes, singles, compilations, and his entire body of work focused on Dub Techno, Giuliano has centralized all his releases under one label: **DUBLUCID**.

When listening to Ezio Aguiar's sets, regardless of tempo or genre, one notices a particular mysticism mixed with different organic, melodic and progressive elements.

He would call himself a believer in the healing and connecting power of music and dance. And if you have ever caught him dancing with his eyes closed behind the decks, then you probably understand why. Combining rhythm and harmony, charm and depth, dreaminess and magnificence, his musical tales captivate and take his listeners on a warm and ascending journey. A journey into their own wildness - one which uplifts the soul with majestic beauty, yet grounds the body with prominent and pulsating bass. 

The Brazilian born and Berlin based artist has played in infamous German clubs such as Sisyphos, Kater Blau, Rummelsbucht, Bahnwärter Thiel or Mensch Meier as well as at festivals like Feel Festival, Lusatia Festival, Kiez Burn and more. His musical signature can also be seen in his curation of the musical background for ‘Burning Man: The Build’ – an official Burning Man aftermovie which has won several film festival awards and has been firing up thousands of screens around the globe.
