We met @KyleToole on the road back in the early days of The Ghost, something about his chirpy bubblin' vibe sparked an instant connection.

Little did we know, young Kyle was a hidden gem of a DJ. Bout time for a Ghostcast wethinks.

Of all the Berlin DJs who make a living spinning strange, I'm-not-sharing-the-tracklist kind of records, Sugar Free, originally hailing from Madrid, might be the most fun. She plays bold, colourful tracks with an air of sci-fi and sleaze, somewhere between Italo, hi-NRG, electro and house. (Her Dimensions Mix last year was one of our favourites of 2023.) She's the kind of DJ who messes with your perception of genres and tempos by how she blends tracks together, and also a DJ with a rare grasp of mixing melodies and moods—just check out the first transition of this RA Podcast for a spine-tingling example.

Sugar Free doesn't speak much publicly, and you won't find a lot about her on the internet. She prefers to let her DJing speak for itself. And her RA Podcast says a lot: proggy basslines, heart-in-mouth descents into reverb-heavy breakdowns, eerie vocals and a general feel of psychedelia and '80s decadence. It's difficult to tell what era these records are from, which is part of the charm. For a bonus point, try and pick out two just-completed Sugar Free originals, some of her first productions ever after her debut track came out on Limousine Dream in 2022.

For the first time in our 25-year history, we are releasing a live solo recording by Craig Richards from the club. 

“This mix was recorded on the second of December at a Continuum party. I commenced just after five and finished at nine. The heady combination of nostalgia coupled with the past, the future and more importantly my daughter dancing next to me, resulted in a mix that I felt happy with. Historically, I have been very self-critical and have chosen not to release many mixes. Across nearly four hours this one seems to encapsulate the twenty five years of playing at fabric. In 1998 I was invited by Keith Reilly to play weekly at what was an imaginary nightclub. I had no idea that experience would continue for so many years. Playing vinyl on that sound system and mixer is highly exciting and a joy in itself. I am delighted that this has been my method of sonic communication and remain deeply grateful for my ongoing residency.” - Craig Richards

After various conversations with Nacho Capella (RICARDISTAS) I decided to take inspiration from his posts on Instagram, from his TEMPOIBIZA profile, and prepare a tribute set to one of the most historic, long-lived and important clubs on the planet. In fact, my set is a tribute to Amnesia and its history.

One of the most in-demand UK selectors, London-based KT is enjoying a rather meteoric rise through the ranks at present. Her synth-laden cuts have and continue to take her far and wide and having already covered most of the UK she is already in the process of ticking off large sections of the globe off her list. Her 2024 started in much the same way that her year will end and that is lighting up the finest dancefloors in the business. Having started the year in the best company at the first edition of Trotamundo, she will again be heading to South America for round two, but not before headlining Pleasure’s NYE soiree at Cabaret Voltaire and then taking her place at fabric’s NYD party.

Having been keeping tabs on KT’s ascent for some time it was a no-brainer to draft her in for her Trommel mix debut. With her style running from the sublime to the downright dastardly, KT manages to tie together many acid-dipped moods that frame her depth of influence. Her paddy intro soon gives way to unstoppable grooves and impenetrable basslines but all the while, a thread of focused intensity keeps the energy levels from topping out for too long. Sleep on this at your peril as KT continues to deliver on the biggest of stages that will shortly include Alien Communications’ huge Xmas bash, Gottwood Festival, and a slew of more top festivals and clubs.

Part two of RA.999: two NYC Downlow favourites go back-to-back for the first time with a jubilant homage to classic house.

The RA Podcast launched 19 years ago in 2006, making it one of the world's longest-running online mix series. As we gear up to celebrate the 1,000th episode, RA.999 lands with five mixes across five days with a cohort of artists who've left a singular mark on electronic music over the past few decades. The chemistry and legacy of these duos make for something very special—and worthy of such a huge milestone.

First up was 1morning and Regal86 with a live recording from New York's Bossa Nova. Next up? We move to NYC Downlow, and who better to capture Glastonbury's beloved queer utopia than Prosumer and Peach, going back-to-back for the first time.

If house is your thing, then Prosumer and Peach going one-for-one on the decks is nothing short of a treat. With Glastonbury still just about in the rearview mirror, this mix captures the spirit of NYC Downlow. If you're familiar, you'll know this means steamy euphoria all-night long, sweat dripping from the ceiling and an intoxicating feeling in the humid air.

And Prosumer is a true Downlow darling—a treasured custodian and storyteller of dance music who delivered his first RA Podcast way back in 2007. "If a record doesn't move me emotionally or physically, I won't play it out," he said at the time, befitting of the impeccable curation and irresistible body groove that became his trademarks. He is, in the words of the Johnny Dangerous track in the mix, the "King of Clubs."

For Peach, RA.999 marks a full-circle moment: Prosumer's 2019 closing set in the Downlow is one of her all-time Glastonbury memories. Since her first RA Podcast in 2021, the London-based artist has only grown more in-demand, with sets that typically traverse the house and techno lexicon—and occasionally R&B—with a distinctly peppy energy. "Neither of us are afraid to go deep," she said about playing with Prosumer. "We just had fun with it."
