After a sabbatical at the beginning of the year, today we begin our season on Podcasts. Our guest comes from Romania. An excellent curator at his record label and also with historic performances at festivals such as Sunwaves Festival.

One of the most respected DJs in his country, he has been spreading the Romanian music scene around the world for a long time. With stints at record labels such as his own, Atipic Records, Arpiar, RORA and many others.

He masterfully gave us two presentations at this year's Brazilian carnival.

This mix was recorded live at D-EDGE in Sao Paulo.

Having been active since the mid-nineties D’Julz has been pivotal in the progression of high-grade house and techno with just the right amount of funk and tech. We can’t discuss D’Julz without mentioning his genre-defining imprint Bass Culture Records and its lineage is just as impressive. For the eagle-eyed followers amongst you, you will have noticed that D’Julz has recently gone full circle with the rerelease of one of his first-ever records. "For this fabric mix, I wanted to stay true to my vision of a DJ set: a selection blending unreleased tracks from UK producers, never-heard tunes from close friends, a few old school gems, and some fresh new releases that really speak to me.

The idea was to craft a mix I could actually play in a club. The hardest part? Trying not to get lost listening to all the unreleased stuff instead of focusing on the mix itself — so much exciting music, it was almost cruel to choose.

I recorded this mix using the Euphonia rotary mixer, which I absolutely love. It brings a different feel to the mix — smoother, deeper, more tactile.

Big thanks to fabric for the trust, and to everyone who contributed to this mix in one way or another.

The pairing of Irish artist Trent Voyage and vocalist Elena Moroder has exploded onto the scene, and their slinky house jams have captured the hearts of the underground. With their joint output coming almost exclusively via Alexandre Skancke’s excellent Quirk imprint, their debut release “Parasol” set the stage for one of the releases of 2024 in “Aquamarine” and the rest, they say, is history. 

Recorded live at Riga’s Penthaus Calling party series, the live duo glides through an hour of the sexiest deep house to emerge from the underground to rapturous whoops from the crowd. The combination of deep basslines, dreamy melodies and equally dreamy vocal musings from Elena, they ensure that this house sound again has a champion in the underground. Feel good, yet thoroughly introspective, Trent Voyage and Elena Moroder is the shot in the arm that classic house has been calling out for.
