premiere | Tal Fussman - Oh, Ok | Exit Strategy

Collaborating previously on DGTL, having known each other for years, Dutch brother duo Parallelle and France’s Nicolas Masseyeff have created a partnership within the studio that clicks. Parallelle are multi-instrumentalists, composers, producers and Klassified Records owners with a hybrid sound that mixes up electronica, electro-jazz and underground house, while Masseyeff is equally accomplished and draws on minimalism, jazz, new wave, Detroit and Chicago when crafting his signature sound on the likes of Systematic Recordings and Diversions Music. Linking up again, the three talents combine for a first outing on Crosstown Rebels with ‘Renegade’.

Thomas of Parallelle says, “We have created a very complementary, fun and fluid creative flow when together in the studio. We like to keep a renegade mindset and always look for a dirty groove.” And that shows across these latest creations.

Up first is title track ‘Renegade’, a deep mid-tempo house shuffler. The drums are elegant and airy, with bright chords and a rasping baseline. It’s a real mood builder with dramatic synth sweeps that brings a sense of class to the dance floor.

Israeli artists Adam Ten & Mita Gami have been a creative force for the last couple of years, and their ‘High On’ EP on Crosstown Rebels last year gained huge success, defining a new movement of psychedelic house sounds. Their remix of ‘Renegade’ offers a slowly unfolding masterclass with moving melodies and modulated synths casting a captivating spell.

Last of all is ‘Bandidos’, another deep and subtle track infused with rich synth work. The bright lines and deft pads are lithe and loose over the underlapping drums, encouraging you to gaze in awe as you get lost in the mellifluous groove.

Guy Gerber's Rumors label welcomes Nick Morgan for a pair of sublime new sounds. 

Nick Morgan is a Canadian born electronic music producer and DJ known for pushing the boundaries of the electronic genre.  When he is not touring the globe, Nick has kept a presence in Mykonos for the past 5 years with his Sunday night residency at the world renowned “Moni”.  As a producer, Nick has created a plethora of remix’s and edits that have received critical acclaim from some of the biggest names in the underground scene.  His latest release “Shook Pt. 3” quickly became a crowd favorite in the summer 2023 season, earning him the attention and admiration of music lovers and industry professionals alike. With a string of recent releases on the horizon, Nick is beginning to cement his unique sound in the electronic dance world.  

Bass Bousa is a mid tempo deep house excursion lit up with fantastically expressive synths and melodies that ring out with real soul. They bring worldly charm to the persuasive grooves and really cast a spell. Says Nick of the track, “I have always been fascinated with the rhythms and melodies of Arabic music. I wanted to blend the rich musical heritage of the Middle East with my electronic sound.”

Want You started as a voice note sketch and is a more stripped back and minimal rhythm to start with. Ghostly vocal sounds and slick percussive patterns pepper the groove which never lets up and eventually gets coloured with some superb Middle Eastern melodic colour.

The 15-track release is a special edition of fabric Originals' ongoing compilation series presented by new fabric brand Love Hertz. 

The third compilation coming out on fabric Originals also marks the first melodic, deep house and groovy electronic compilation from fabric’s flagship label. SELECTS III is a celebration of a genre that has found a firm and welcome home at the club itself post-lockdown. It includes 15 fresh, new, and all-original cuts from the likes of Red Axes, Perel, Tony Y Not, Shubostar, Glowal, and Zombies In Miami. 

SELECTS III is an array of exciting new talent, established artists, and fabric club regulars alike, all contributing towards a glistening project that will transport listeners into uplifting dancefloor-ready bliss. Red Axes, who have also released a separate single ‘HEY’ ft. A.lonzo via Originals, have put forth the track ‘Super Power Powder’. Meanwhile, rising talent and one-to-watch Chloé Caillet delivers the excellent ‘Back To Self’, making a firm stamp on the release ahead of her curated night ‘SMIILE’ at Colour Factory in Hackney Wick this November. 


Other tracks include ‘Revelation’ from Kiara Scuro; diverting slightly from the compilation’s more contemplative moments, the London-based duo presents a floaty yet impactful track, that warps, ebbs, flows, and ups the tension just at the right moment. Plus, already out, ANII’s captivating ‘Just Breathe’, is a perfect instance of the dreamy euphoria that seeps throughout the all-encompassing and well-rounded selection of tracks. 

Meanwhile, Hardt Antoine’s new track takes the listener through a kaleidoscopic sonic journey, traversing the Reculture label founder’s eclectic sonic pallet. Inspired by futuristic and science fiction themes, Antoine transports us through musical dimensions but is never unrelenting in that consistent and overarching dance-floor bliss that seeps between the track's trace-inducing backdrop.
