Fresh gear incoming from our UK contingent over in Berlin. Christian & Sam have been chipping away with some really slick beats over the last couple of years and now we’ve got a couple of hours of heat for you to get immersed in. Unreleased stuff from friends far and wide as well as some nifty little numbers thrown in the mixer for good measure. Real nice!

Junes kicks off a new imprint, Dote, with a full-length exploration of the direct yet dreamlike sound he’s made his own. With his usual flair for crisp grooves and ghostly palettes, A View reveals a broader range of nuanced vibes. Second Wind and Stop, Elate show a playful buoyancy, and a sense of discovery in tracks like Balancing Act and Two-Sided Embrace add a narrative pace to the collection. There’s time for some of the creeping, spaced out atmospheres that hallmark some of Junes’ previous best, but with tracks like Packaging, the realisation of this sound is richer than ever. There’s a restless feel throughout the work, too – especially evident in the closer Spooked – and a feeling that we’ve been on a trip that doesn’t end here.

Nocturne Series 002: Te Doare

Dj and producer from Budapest, Hungary recently based in Dresden.
He's playing records and organizing parties more than a decade now. Worked as an assistant club manager/night manager in Budapests well known techno club "LÄRM" and was a stage manager/host at several venues and festivals around the underground electronic music scene in Hungary. Co-founder of the event series focusing on artists from the good old techhouse/house/minimal scene called Mondays: Off beside his partner in crime Po:ti. They invited artists to Budapest like Andrew James Gustav, Sammy Dee (Perlon),  Vera (Perlon, Melliflow), Steve O'Sullivan (Mosaic), S.A.M (Mandar), Manuel Schatz (Hardworksoftdrink), Binh(TimePassages)... etc. Played at parties in the past years in Cluj Napoca, Berlin, Dresden, Stuttgart. He is working on upcoming projects with the Dresden based dj David Jach and with the Rawmantique crew founded by Rakan.

This week's episode of Bside Incoming has been placed in the reliable hands of Canadian DJ and Producer, avid collector of records, label boss of Maybe Tomorrow, and man of musical passion: Colin de la Plante AKA The Mole.

Often to be found digging blindly into uncharted subterranean regions on the impassioned pursuit of novel sounds, The Mole endeavours to return to the surface with buried treasures for the keen and willing ears of his audience. Beyond his reputation as a top class live act with an infectious enthusiasm behind the decks, there is much to be said for his prowess as a producer, notably his involvement with Units & Measurements, The Modern Deep Left Quartet, and most recently with his Deadbeat Meets the Mole release on BLKRTZ.

With a career spanning 20 years: originating in Vancouver and currently based in Berlin; releases on such prestigious labels as Ostgut Ton, Perlon, Musique Risquée and Internasjonal; worldwide festival appearances at Mutek, Houghton, Sandbox and Outline; and an ever longer list of collaborative musical projects… we are certainly very excited for Colin to guide us through some of his most cherished Bsides.

Starting out with a focus on slow burning percussion, and left field jazz, before picking up the pace with some smooth electronica, feel good funky beats and some powerful disco. A healthy dose of legendary artists: Patrick Adams, Billy Preston, Marvin Gaye and Hamilton Bohannon; lightly sprinkled with soulful global sounds throughout and an excellent history lesson for each record.

Ever tasteful in his selection, and always keeping us on our toes… The Mole keeps on giving!

Bside Incoming: The Mole

Molly’s RDV returns this December, rounding out the year with a reissue of material from 1994 by French artist Continental and backed by a remix from Cosmin TRG.
Amrboise Boret is a French engineer, mixer and producer located in Paris who released material under various guises from the nineties through to the early 2000’s. Here we see
his Continental moniker brough back into the limelight, highlighting a selection of material from the Pushin' It Up EP on Alliance Records.
Up first is ‘Flying Dub’, as the name would suggest a dub-infused excursion through gliding chord sequences, snaking bass licks and bright string sequences while swinging analogue drums dynamically evolve throughout. ‘Way U Jack’ follows, introducing a more Chicago leaning attitude rhythmically alongside low-pitched vocal murmurs, fluttering dub chords and a bumpy bass line.
Title-track ‘Whispers’ follows on the b-side next, employing ethereal atmospherics, flute like synth melodies, organ bass tones and crunchy, shuffled percussion. Rounding out the EP Cosmin TRG reworks ‘Whispers’, offering a contemporary twist on the original with intricately programmed drums, subtly nuanced introductions of the originals atmospherics, winding low- end pulsations and an overall ornate, dynamic feel.
