Anthony Rother enters our REC series at Fuse. At the vanguard of the electro scene, few artists like Rother can boast a 20-plus years career in such a prolific way. And one thing's for sure, this rich heritage seeps through this two-hour hybrid mix, recorded within the hallowed walls of our beloved Room 01.

With Rother's formula, you're in for alluring, overcast electro rhythms and ethereal melodies that weave together ideally for a buzzing club night. Sandrienはアムステルダムで活躍するテクノDJの中でもトップDJの１人である。アムステルダムのナイトライフ・アイコンであったTrouw Amsterdamでの約5年間のレジデンシーを終え、ローカルの人気DJからインターナショナルなテクノ大使へと成長した。今でもホームタウンのシーンを大切にしている彼女は、オランダ各地でヘッドライナーとしてプレイする他、Berghain、Nachtdigital、ロンドンCorsica StudioのMachine、パリのConcreteなど活躍の場を広げている。Sandrienは1999年にDJとしての活動を開始し、彼女単独や"Is Burning"イベントのパートナーでもあるDJ、Carlos ValdesとのパーティでDJを始めた。今は無きClub 11ではCarlosと共に"MAD2"という人気パーティを開催。2010年にTrouwからの誘いでアンダーグラウンド・テクノナイト"Imprint"を毎月開催するようになり、数年後には多くのオープンマインドなクラウドを惹き付ける人気イベントとなった。Trouwでの長期に渡るレジデンシーは彼女の才能と多様性の確固たる証拠でもある。冷えきったフロアを一瞬にして盛り上げることができ、ショートセットでもロングセットでもどちらも抜群に上手くプレイできることを証明してきた。言い換えれば、彼女のプレイを見た者ならばどんな夜でも特別な夜にしてしまう彼女のすごさを疑わないだろう。

-こちらのミックスはどちらでどのように収録されたのですか？

家でTechnicsのターテーブル2台とCDJ2台、A&HのミキサーXone:92を使ってレコーディングしました。


-コンセプトがあれば教えて下さい。

日本、特に東京を想いながらミックスしました。前回日本に行った時本当に楽しくて、私にとって特別な国なんで。日本の人はすごく暖かくて優しくて丁寧で、音楽に対しての熱意も感じました。とてもすてきな所だと思いました。日本の暖かさや優しさを、このディープでちょっとトリッピーなミックスで少しでも表現できたら良いなと思っています。


-最近の活動を教えて下さい。

昨年開催されたアムステルダムのクラブ”Trouw”のクロージングパーティー以降いろいろな所でプレイしてきました。ベルリンの”Berghain”でのギグはすごく良かったし、ロンドンの”Village Underground”ではMarcel Fenglerのレーベル〈IMF〉のパーティーにも出演しました。今はオランダで親友のCarlos Valdesと一緒に「Is Burning」というパーティーのオーガナイズを担当しています。東京AIRでの「terminus」でのプレイすごく楽しみにしているよ！

Parabel Podcast #27 - The Persuader aka Jesper Dahlbäck

There are plenty of DJs playing hypnotic techno, but few capture this meditative tone as well as Julia Govor. Behind the booth she plays a mix of smooth and deep cuts spanning the breadth of the genre, while her releases offer the same pensive driving quality that likely attracted Ricardo Villalobos to work on a remix for her. 

Govor’s musical background started early in her life. Growing up in Russia she was part of the military band Moryachka, and at the start of her working career she interviewed key figures in house and techno as a journalist at MTV. Once she started writing music, she made a permanent move from Berlin to New York. For a career as a DJ this might seem unorthodox, but it’s probably disconnecting from the city’s intense atmosphere that offers a big part of her inspiration. 

Once she began writing music, she relocated from Berlin to New York City, where she now lives with her husband. Moving from Berlin to a metropolis like New York might seem an unorthodox move, but as she told us, a big part of her inspiration comes from disconnecting from the city’s atmosphere. 

Before she makes her debut at the club on 25th November, we invited Govor to give us a mix and interview feature. For her mix, she sent us back an uncompromising two hour recording of hypnotic modern techno.
