Deer Friends... 

My intention was to share this live set (this is the first time I’m posting a full live set of mine), that was dedicated to my mother, “Tsvia”, which means "deer" in Hebrew. I wanted to tell so many stories, about my relationship with Maxa, my mother, Burning Man 2023 & more. 
However the events of this week were a big twist in the plot. 

I went back and forth about posting this set at this time, maybe hoping to share it on a more positive note... And then at the same time especially now, if I can borrow your ears and maybe your heart for a couple hours,  take you away from craziness of this world and back to the dusty Playa. Then let that be my mission in these unprecedented times...

Dear friends, I'm grateful to share with you the recording of a morning session I had the pleasure to DJ on the cutest art car, Lucy S Cargo the colourful Sonic Snail 🌈  after sunrise on Friday AM at Burning Man 2024.

It was a sunny Friday morning on this love planet, smiling and taking life as it comes, lightly and playfully. 

I was so glad to DJ alongside @christianvoldstad and after my brother @dextercrowe who was soundtracking his first sunrise session on the playa so beautifully! I recommend you start with his set so you can hear the earlier chapter of this sunrise journey.

OVERVIEW from AYABLOOM

When this card was pulled it was slightly bewildering on how I would interpret it into a sonic journey. I was expecting a card that was more of an emotional position, like Love, Death etc. I had to sit with this card for a couple of months. When James made a set release date, it coincided with being on my birthday 25th September.

The more I read the description of the card the more I recognised that this mix was actually based on me as a person and the pulling the Knight of Shields was actually about a description of who I am as a person.

“The Knight of Pentacles is about the daily tasks and the responsibility that one has to gain through a specific project. This knight has the patience to accomplish all his given duties and is considered by others reliable and committed to his work. To see this card is an indication that there is a need to be trustworthy and reliable.
You are fully committed to your assignments and you make sure that you complete your work efficiently. You are absolutely loyal and do the best you can in order to make sure the job will be properly completed. Though your sense of duty is admirable, beware that it does not turn into perfectionism - which can manifest itself in every aspect of your life.”

This description also gives a description of the way I engage in my creativity and also when curating sonic journeys. I decided this Arcana mix would showcase the breadth of my love of Electronic music from Downtempo to more Deep Uptempo Organic Beats. This set ranges from 108bpm to 120bpm. I ended up playing it LIVE on a Saturday Evening in a friends lounge room with my speakers positioned behind me as I sat facing 7 of my close friends as they lay and sat on the couches in front immersed in the journey of my musical expression of who I believe I am. I didn’t actually realise how profound of an experience it would be for me performing this mix and also for the few who experienced it LIVE.
