Mind | Matter is the main musical project of french artist Théo Ferretti. Born and raised in Paris, M|M aims to fuse his post-punk roots with shades of electronic body music, martial industrial and mystic techno rhythms. After making his place on the french industrial scene he joined RAW Agency and released on labels such as Detriti Records, Intervision, Forbidden Teachings, EGONlab, Crave Tapes & others. His sound can be described as a melt of darkness and poetry, an encounter between chaos and romanticism.

EBM, industrial, wave, drone, it’s all in there and it’s done magnificently well by Jerome Tcherneyan and Barkosina Hanusova. A couple collaboration dating back to about 2016, the two met in the London scene and almost instantly started recording together to start their project on impulse, something that seems to drive their sound through every release since. 

With increasing acclaim through each record, the two sent a message with their album on the Italian VEYL recordings ‘Suicide Disco’ that really imposed their sound internationally with tracks like ‘Face to Face’ and ‘I’m Still a Pill’ which are classics at this point.

Hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece, Alpha Sect is a project of George McCall, which is focused on breaking electro patterns and pumping body music with serious punk influences. He started his music career as a guitarist in the post-metal band Sleepstream with 2 albums on their track record and he is an active musician with participations in physical theatre performances with his side-project. Fredrik Carlsson & Pontus Sjöblom - Split Service EP [FERMA008]

We have recently featured material from the Barcelona-based label Urban Legend records and today we are visiting their catalogue again. A new release on the label has called our attention. This time by Granite Mask.

Granite Mask is a producer and DJ based in Los Angeles, California, active since 2012, with releases on Opal Tapes and Nostilevo. 2022 sees new releases on Urban Legend and tracks for various compilations in the style of his live hardware sets, without any process and stripped. Also, he is a new resident of Athen’s Fade Radio, curating a monthly show.


Granite Mask lands on Urban Legend Records with their new EP 'Before the Storm'. 
The EP created during the heavy and dark days of the COVID -19 pandemic. Making this EP became a way to see the light at the end of the tunnel during these dark times, a survival mechanism, a vehicle for creativity and reconnection with oneself. At the core of this work is the idea of ​​focusing on what we are passionate about and adapting to difficult situations.

‘Before the Storm’ consists of four very energetic and edgy tracks, with lo-fi and industrial textures, broken beats and provocative synth lines. The result illustrates the contrast between the struggle of external conditions and the inner peace generated by music and artistic expression.

Today we premiere the track Toscano Club, steered by a drumming frenzy and unpredictable eerie synth lines blended with a mysterious baseline.

Our next guest is well known for his unique interpretation of Italo Disco, Wave and Electro. Luca dell’Orso likes his music snappy and raw: character & authenticity are keywords in his book and the main pillars of guest mix no. 44. The Dutchman started producing music around 2015 and with well received releases on labels such as Bordello A Parigi, XXX, Red Laser Records and Wrong Era he’s rapidly making a name for himself in the underground dance scene.

For both his DJ sets and his own productions, Luca tends to alternate between melancholy and the well-known joyous melodies of Italo Disco. Even though Luca’s focus is rather niche, his music has frequently been played by some of the most well-known artists in the dance scene like The Blessed Madonna, Dixon, Âme and Palms Trax.

Apart from his solo work, Luca is co-initiator and curator of the Nijmegen based Italo/Electro-inspired club night TUTTI. Keep an eye on our friend Luca. You'll get to hear a lot more coming from this big talent in the future!
