uBiK is a solo project by Marco Bonini - avant-jazz trained guitarist, inspired by hypnagogic ambient music. His primary source materials are real time processed field recordings and filtered electric guitars using softwares such as Ableton Live and Max/Msp. Both in studio as well as in live performances, he uses a wide array of guitar sounds to create a highly textural intense music, taking cues from drone, glitch, noise and musique concrete. Bonini’s music reveals his passion for science-fiction and chaos theory. Live shows assume a central part in his creative path, strengthening his abilities as an impro-performer. He has also shared the stage with artists such as Jimi Tenor, Vladislav Delay, Fabio Perletta, Marta de Pascalis. In November 2011 Circadian Rhythm, Sleep Disorder was released via 901 Editions and it achieved enthusiastic reviews. Frostbitten (2014) and The Morning Path (2016) were out, both released on a limited edition tape via the Danish label, Metaphysical Circuits In 2016 he releases via Manyfeetunder “La Città Morta” (The Dead Town), an electro-acoustic study about ghost towns and ancient necropolis based in Lazio, the country surrounding Rome. Basically focused on field recordings - indoors & outdoors - lively converses with the digitally filtered and processed one, resulting in a deep mesh of harmonic explorations and resonances.

This radio show takes you on a journey through refuge songs, OMNM is a state, where music doesn't leave you alone.

From jazz gems to folk songs, and from lo-fi sounds to distorted guitars and power trios, this show embraces simplicity and captures the inescapable sensation of loneliness, transforming it into an everlasting cradle of solace.

These are songs that have found me throughout my life, making each edition a generational orchestra, in which we will explore music from the 80s, 70s, 90s, and 2000s, with a focus on new releases primarily from Argentina and Latin America, while also featuring artists from other continents.

in this first episode I take a tour through the argentinian 80's and 90's with this year's release of La Piba Berreta from their new album Un Dios Nuevo, we meet the band Dios (from the late 90's) from the same country and we also go through the 80's in Spain, England, Peru among some new gems.

To the casual underground observer, the name Beau Wanzer will probably be most recognisable for one of last year's most resolutely weird dancefloor cuts in "Balls Of Steel", yet the Chicago native has been producing to his own beat for a lot longer. First surfacing with the corroded "F. U. Klaxon" on a Nation release in 2008, Wanzer has built up an intriguing discography under a myriad of collaborative projects that offer some real insight into his musical influences and production range. The thrusting power loop techno of Wanzer's Civil Duty project with Shawn O'Sullivan for instance differs greatly from the looser, more mind-bending approach taken with the roving Mutant Beat Dance collaboration with Nation boss Traxx or the primitive electronics of Streetwalker, his irregular gig with White Car's Elon Katz.

With a growing profile of solo releases for L.I.E.S., Russian Torrent Versions and, most recently, a full debut on Nation in the shape of Power Outage, it seems the world is finally ready to get a deeper look into the musical mind of Beau Wanzer. A forthcoming eponymous debut album gathering together a dozen tracks from the personal Wanzer archives circa 2002-08 is due later this year, and promises to be one of the more unique long players of 2014.

Given our oft-stated love for Wanzer's output on Juno Plus, it only felt right to extend the invitation for him to contribute to our podcast series, and the resultant 54 minutes of long-term favourites and newer discoveries will have the MixesDB track ID crew working hard. Fans of Wanzer's work in mainland Europe will no doubt be happy to know he's set to play a few dates next month, including a rather tempting night with L.I.E.S. crew Traxx, Ron Morelli, Marcos Cabral, and Vereker B2B Low Jack at Berghain/Panorama Bar - details on those details can be found here: http://bit.ly/1zDgWLH
