For this episode @dreamccore hosts The Marquis the industrial solo project by Dillon Steele, founded in  Montreal in 2015, and currently based in Berlin.
"I made this mix for the doomed generation". The main concept behind it 
was to only include material that has been released in the last 1 or 2 
years, in order to truly reflect the feelings of the current state of 
things. The focus was mainly on distorted, bass-heavy frequencies, so 
that the listener can sink into the proverbial sludge in which we find 
ourselves today.
His next release, an EP entitled "End of the Line: Corroded and Broken" 
coming out with Strange Therapy later this year, is in a very similar 
place conceptually and sonically speaking. Going back to his roots a bit 
with a lot more slow, heavy, doom influenced guitar, and less focus on 
the dancefloor, which has obviously been a bit empty these days...

Influenced by footwork and jungle, "Venus," is a stripped back ethereal and brooding composition that leaves you with an other worldly resonance. Originating in Montreal with his decidedly Post-punk debut 'The Marquis"', released in 2015 with Art Not Love Records (Named in the top albums of the year by cult underground music magazine Silent Shout), The Marquis is Dead has a prolific and eclectic discography, constantly evolving as so does the artist himself. His sophomore album, the brilliant 'The Suburbs Dream of Bloodshed' was released under the care of the cult Berlin record label (aufnahme + wiedergabe) in 2021, followed by the deranged VHS audio-visual concept album released with Strange Therapy Records of Amsterdam later that year.In March 2022, he self-released the brutal 4-song EP titled "'PLAGUE YEARS'. Not an easy piece to get through, it is ultra-weight industrial, such as the club destroying track 'THREAT' made in collaboration with Berlin-based Mexican artist Carlos GrabStein aka 89st.
