Formé en 1981 à Bordeaux, Takenoko est l'un des groupes pionniers de la synthpop en France. 
Fasciné par la culture japonaise le groupe décide de s’appeler Takenoko (jeune pousse de bambou et métaphore du teenager au Japon) et choisit d’être un groupe de studio qui se met en scène.
Influencé par des groupes anglais tels que New Order, Heaven 17 ou The Human League, les Japonais de Plastics, et les Allemands de Kraftwerk, Takenoko distille une électro-pop dansante support à des textes évoquant avec ironie la violence du monde et ses dérives.

"Hailing from London, Statues is fronted by Bradley Lucke and Mark Crooks and occasionally joined by a wide range of artists for spot-on collaborations. take a stroll through their previous appearances on Claremont 56, eclectics, Is It Balearic…?, MM Discos and Shades Of Sound Recordings.

The project has been remixed by the likes of Gold Suite, Coyote, Sibson, Vanity Project, Vendetta Suite, James Bright, Steve Carr, Paul 'Mudd' Murphy.

The Warriors are  forged from an alliance of transatlantic low-fi fanatics and leftfield DJ / Producers. Projecting an amalgamation of Chemical Beats, broken beat, jazz, downtempo, house, techno, electronica, noise and psyche, their unusual sound, whether laid back, or dance floor oriented, could quite easily come from a dystopic future where truly bad taste is outlawed.
