Amsterdam’s Ratherlost crew has spent the past few years perfecting the art of the marathon rave. Their home base is Lofi, a cavernous warehouse where sound, light, and visuals fuse into long-haul journeys that stretch well past the 18-hour mark. But epic runtimes mean nothing without the right hands at the controls, and Ratherlost has proven it knows how to curate, pace, and execute like pros.

Lofi’s two-floor setup allows for shifting moods: daylight hours wander through deep, dubby techno, slowly morphing into faster, syncopated rhythms as night tightens its grip. Pacing is everything in a space like this. And when it comes to the craft of pacing, few do it better than Bas Dobbelaer.

Bas is one of our favorite DJs for a reason. He understands that a warm-up set is an architecture rather than just background noise. It shapes the room, sets the tone, and welcomes dancers into the story. The mix we’re thrilled to share today was recorded live at Ratherlost’s Easter Sunday session at Lofi, where Bas shared the bill with artists like Aaron J, Na Nich & Vera Logdanidi, Aurora Halal, DVS1, upsammy, Occa, Agonis, Dasha Rush, Seb H, and Oscar Mulero. Quite the roster.

In the face of that stacked lineup, Bas delivered a masterclass in restraint and elegance. His three-hour set unfolds like a novel, tracing dub techno’s DNA across the past two decades. The vibe is timeless, spacious, and beautifully measured, a perfect example of how to warm up a warehouse without blowing the doors off too soon.

London-based artist Sybil is a true storyteller behind the decks, celebrated in equal measure for her cinematic take on techno as she is for crafting deep ambient journeys that soothe the soul. Whether for the dancefloor or for introspective listening, her selections are always guided by a distinct emotional depth, weaving intricate sonics with a healthy dose of psychedelia for good measure. 

Exploring the inspiration for this flawless session, Sybil describes it as:

“I’ve dived deep into the ocean for this mix, a wave through time, flowing between psychedelia of the 70s, 90s, present-day and beyond. A modern take on 90s chillout mix CDs, a meditation on the ocean, a sun-soaked holographic daydream by the sea ~~~”

For the 62nd interpretation of Far Blue, we have the talented duo Javier Salazar who have put together something special. It's one of the more experimental perceptions of the concept, weaving together downtempo, ambient and abstract sounds. Besides running the inspiring Klape Nunsen label, they are amazing selectors when it comes to the deeper and dubby sounds. This mix showcases how subtly they create an atmosphere that makes you float.

"Settled in the studio, we started playing records we felt like sharing. Each of us behind a turntable, doodling without anything specific in mind, occasionally at the same time letting sounds overlap. One of us pressed the record button, and we simply let it unfold, free of knowing where it would lead. We rarely felt so immersed in a recording, selecting each track in the moment. Depth, imperfections and unexpected blends."

Today’s Deep Mind Music entry is a trip through the depths of the earth from Shoal 🌘🌙

Listening to this set I was transported into another realm of being, taken by the hand through the mists of time, into the molten core of the earth. A transmission from the collective unconsciousness of mankind, sinking into the faded memories of our ancestors. Megalithic drones contrast with intricate moments of delicate celestial harmony, as iridescent shimmers of light glint into a shadowed cave. As the mix concludes, we softly re-emerge, floating on a blanket of rainbow-hued clouds ✨🤍

This mix is a live set made entirely of music composed by Shoal, formed from a series of recordings. It features field recordings captured in Japan, as well as a jam session with flute (Urosh), contrabass (Julian Tjon Sack Kie), and sound exploring a tam-tam gong, all collaged together. Thank you Shoal for this moving and evocative journey taking listeners through the primordial beyond 🌌💠🌀

Sundays, for me—no matter what's planned or how beautiful—always carry an underlying sadness. A kind of hopeful melancholy. Sundays are when the medicinal, healing properties of music are at their most potent, and I find myself gravitating toward gentler, more emotional sounds to help calm a wandering mind.

For Deep Breakfast 334, we're pleased to welcome Saphileaum, a truly stellar all-round talent whose work we've been following with great interest. It's a fit that's been a long time coming, and we're thrilled to finally make it happen.

Andro Gogibedashvili, aka Saphileaum, is a Georgian producer and multidisciplinary artist renowned for crafting unique soundscapes that blend rhythm, live drumming, and atmospheric techno. Inspired by mysticism, earth, and the universe, his music is perfect for meditation, introspection, and coming together. With a background in a creatively rich family, Saphileaum's artistic path is shaped by his heritage and traditions. His discography spans top labels like Mule Musiq, Good Morning Tapes, and Silent Season, with each release reflecting his creative approach. Notably, his music was transmitted to space in 2022, making him one of the few artists to reach beyond Earth. Saphileaum's artistry extends to film soundtracks, art exhibitions, and poetry, showcasing his versatility. His approach to music and art invites listeners to tune in deeply, exploring new terrain of culture, sound, and inspiration.

Andro's mix is accompanied by an original poem he wrote, titled 'Master of Spirits' :
