Profoundly thought and beautifully said to a choice instrumental track.  Though not a perfect man (no real men of faith are) "the common Abraham" is the spiritual father of many sons.  Even the great rift between Esau and Jacob found grace and healing in their common heritage.  Why can't it be so between Arab and Palestinian and Jew?  Is hate that much more preferable to love?  Only in hell.

I would love to be able to express my thought and feeling as eloquently as you Peter, but that is why God has put you here and given you this gift to express the thought and the feeling of the Masses, Thank you Peter and Seagull for this very moving Piece. Johnny

love the first line.I write a lot about the differences between "religion" and "God". and how the latter is often twisted and perverted by men to do really evil things to each other in the name of the same "God"...torah/bible/quoran have two strong common pillars. : there is one God. and "treat your brother as yourself". something has been lost in translation

La F. R. de 1789 est considérée comme l'un des tournants politico-sociaux les plus importants de l'histoire européenne. Elle a aboli le pouvoir absolutiste et les prérogatives de la noblesse et de l'Église et les a remplacés par l'état civil. Les causes de la R. F. étaient de profonds malaises sociaux et économiques (famines, insolvabilité de l'Etat). L'élément porteur de la F.R. fut l'Assemblée nationale française, qui adopta en 1789 la Déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen. En 1793, les objectifs de la F.R. furent résumés en un mot-clé dans la revendication de Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité (Lien interne:Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité) et devinrent un slogan qui fut porté bien au-delà de la FRA et eut des répercussions dans presque tous les États européens. The F. R. of 1789 is considered one of the most important political-social turning points in European history. It abolished the absolutist rule and the prerogatives of the nobility and the church and replaced them with the bourgeoisie. The reason for the F. R. were profound social and economic grievances (famines, insolvency of the Internal Link:State es). The French National Assembly, which adopted the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen in 1789, was the supporting element of the F. R. In 1793, the goals of the F. R. were summed up in the demand for Internal Link:Liberty , Internal Link:Equality , Fraternity (Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité) and became a slogan that was carried far beyond FRA and had an impact in almost all European states. The ban on the slogan in the Prussian Rhine provinces continues to have an effect today in the civic carnival and the magic number ELF (Égalité, Liberté, Fraternité), which could not be banned: Why else should the revolt of the fools (= citizens) always start on 11.11. at 11 o'clock 11?

A side track suddenly popped into my head. It's something that happens to me sometimes. And I tried to catch it, because an hour later it probably wasn't there anymore.

I sent it to our dear poet/lyricist Peter, and it only took a couple of hours for an absolutely wonderful lyrical interpretation to be in my box.
Peter explained that this song's name was "Gaza" and I understood where we were going. A heartfelt thank you my friend, for your brilliant creations with your poetic vein.

Pray, which good God has cast this spell?
In dusty lands of diverse brilliant ancient provenance
Where peoples cherish but the solitary aim to dispatch to hell
Their neighbouring humanity through inculcated intolerance.
And this from such a tiny, precious space where all do share a common Abraham
The self same place where culture, morals and philosophy first graced the mind of modern man.

What peace can be, powered by the craving of decimation
Where love lies cowered from the social suffocation
Of him next door plus wife and child
The moral floor of passions wild 
With centuries of sparkling seasoned hate
Stoked brightly by the not so holy operatives of Judaism and the Caliphate. 

And so, my middle Eastern brothers, kindly answer this
When you leave this world, for the other and your promised eternal bliss
And as you call your God to realise Allah and Yahweh are one and the same
Will you call in the crushing tanks and play the heavenly occupation game
And will you, conversely, greet your neighbour with rocks and flaming molotovs
Send him on his hellbound way with mobile phone suicide bombs and spitting kalashnikovs?
