Next up in the Fast Forward Audio Series, we present: Kancheli

Giorgi Kancheli is a Georgian producer and resident DJ at Bassiani who has been crucial in shaping the country’s club culture. Growing up in the dark and crumbling Tbilisi, in the ’90s, has greatly influenced his musical identity.

Kancheli’s professional relationship with music began with percussion, and at the age of 17, he was already playing at the Tbilisi jazz festival. Soon after that, he got into electronic music and has now been an active DJ for over 15 years. In early 2010, Kancheli and his friends started the project ‘Stare at DJ’, which quickly became the main event of the country’s evolving club scene. Today, Kancheli is one of the most popular DJs in his hometown Tbilisi, headlining many major festivals in Georgia and performing at the industry’s most respected venues such as Berghain, Robert Johnson, Shelter, Dimensions, and CTM Festival.
Besides spinning the decks, Giorgi also writes and produces his own music.
In spring 2020, his debut solo EP “Earthshaketrance” got released on Bassiani Records.
Kancheli also co-runs the label Shin Records - a label focused on emerging Georgian producers.

Next up in the Fast Forward Audio Series, we present: NEBBIERI

NEBBIERI is a stage name of a charismatic DJ, Marita Nebieridze, whose sets are based on the synthesis of techno, electro, and breakbeat. Her music vision was inspired at an early age by artists such as Kate Bush, The Prodigy, Psychic TV, Wendy Carlos, Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, and many more. The inspiration was depicted in her wonderful record collection. Later on, her enthusiasm transformed into a new initiative - aged 18, Marita eventually started DJing and throwing a regular home party series in Germany, alongside friends and like-minded people.

Since returning to Georgia, Marita debuted at HOROOM and then at BASSIANI’s queer night series HOROOM NIGHTS. Besides music, things that really inspire her are sci-fi literature and the surrounding environment and social life with its daily occurrences. Therefore, she considers DJing to be a very special responsibility, as inspired by the music and social happenings simultaneously, NEBBIERI thinks a DJ can compose and express a dramaturgically rigorous story.

T-N is a Naarm (Melbourne) raised DJ who got her start in London, playing on local radio stations like Threads and Rinse FM and at much beloved venues like Corsica Studios and Five Miles. T-N is now based back in Naarm, where she's recently supported artists like DJ Tool, Dina and Julia Govor. Currently co-running Amniote Editions alongside Mama Snake and part of the Black Artist Database team, T-N is deeply immersed in the realms of global electronic music and extends her take on techno and trance to her city's local dance music scene and beyond. Catch her this Summer in Europe and the U.K., as she gears up for gigs in Copenhagen, London and Berlin.

For our 50th episode of the Fast Forward Audio Series, we present: Nene H
 
Nene H is one of the most exciting underground DJ’s in Europe. Based between Berlin and Copenhagen, she has a refined taste in groovy and highly energetic techno. Her love for old school rave keeps pushing her to evolve her repertoire that can make any dancefloor boil. She's skilled with her analogue gear and bold live sets, with her openness to other genres, courage for experimenting, taking risks and surprising the audience through her artistic projects while always keeping the focus on techno first.

Her journey has just started and has already seen her play some of the best clubs in the world such as Berghain where she debuted last year. Nene also has strong ties to the Copenhagen scene through her residency at one of the scenes most hyped parties, 'Endurance', and in Berlin where she is a resident at one of the cities best queer events, 'Tame'.

In 2019 she released her ‘Feast' EP on Intrepid Skin, a blistering four-track hard-hitting body music experience. She also took part in two compilation series 'Rotterdam' and 'Heldersmat' on Mord Records alongside many great artists. 

Coming from a classical music background she uses her theoretic skills and musical knowledge in her experimental projects, where she has played boundary-pushing live sets at the likes of CTM Festival and Berlin Atonal in 2018 and 2020. Her last solo project at Berlin Atonal, “Rau// Reue” was considered one of the most interesting performances and she recently premiered her latest project “Chela“ in collaboration with the national choir of Georgia, 'Ensemble Basiani', which took place in front of a sold-out-audience at CTM Berghain.

He has been an active DJ for over 15 years. 
His debut solo record was released on Bassiani Records on May 15th, 
2020. Kancheli is considered as one of the most important and versatile Georgian techno DJs.
His previous gigs took place in Berghein, Spielraum and Shelter in Amsterdam,
Robert Johnson in Frankfurt, CTM festival in Germany,  Dimensions festival and many more.
