[LDRX3] B1 - Public Expenditure

FatCat are super psyched to have the legend that is Prince Sherman deliver us a special one hour "Lockdown Dub" mix for our radio show on  the airwaves of Brighton's 1BTN radio. 

Sherman worked at both the NME and The Melody Maker throughout the nineties, and was responsible for introducing and showcasing a new and emerging electronic music scene and was a regular visitor to the FatCat record store. 
He has also tour managed for The Orb and Two Lone Swordsmen, he co-ran the Cloak & Dagger label, and is a renowned disc jockeying record-changer, he's been selcting nice slabs of vinyl since the mid-80s. Now sells records under the guise of Shake The Foundations.
This mix has been been lovingly compiled using those beautiful slabs of black vinyl from his extensive collection. 

‘Lockdown Dub’ is dedicated to all those who have lost loved ones, to all NHS staff, key workers, frontliners, family and friends.

La Ind0 fue invitado de honor en el evento de Magenta y La Maldita Radio en Rastro Live con una súper selección de disco y house mayormente brasileño. 


Con casi veinte años de experiencia en las cubiertas, La Ind0 ha sido un amante de la música electrónica desde sus primeros años de adolescencia. Enamorado de los vinilos como objetos de colección, su oído se sintonizó con el lado más brillante de la música house y club desde sus inicios como DJ.
Más recientemente, sus sesiones combinan los principios de Chicago house y acid house; discoteca y afrobeat de finales de los 70;80 boogie, electro e italo-disco; el lado más contemporáneo de house y techno; y los himnos atemporales de Nueva York en los años 90.

Como promotor, ha estado detrás de algunas fiestas muy conocidas en Madrid: House Entre Amigas, ¡VIVAS! y D O W N T I M E S, todos ellos enfocados en diferentes enfoques de la música de baile hedonista. Además de su condición de sospechoso habitual en las cabinas de DJ en todo Madrid, sus actos en varios eventos de renombre en Madrid como RBMA Weekender Madrid o Music & Dealers se han convertido en una obligación por derecho propio.

Tallinn based producer Olga debuts on LIITHELI with four elevating cuts on a release entitled ‘Krakow Horse Racing’. Born and raised in Tallinn, Olga is the moniker of a local producer who is active in a variety of music genres. The Olga alter-ego was formed to be a 120-140 bpm project which fulfills “guilty pleasures” of the creator who continuously seeks to develop innovative sounds and ideas through expansive experimentalism and creativity. ‘Krakow Horse Racing’ sees him join the Estonian based label LIITHELI who continue to provide a platform for local producers following the likes of Rando Arand, Mava & Nebukat, N1MA and the label boss Ali Asker on releases that picked up support from artists such as Ben Sims, Axel Boman, Italo Johnson, Efdemin, Bruce Forest Drive West, Éclair Fifi and many more.
Our pick up was ‘Olga’s Dream’ which rounds off the EP with an ambient cut featuring murky, half-time drums, cinematic atmospheres and dreamy soundscapes providing an introspective yet soothing experience to finish.

PREMIERE #1213 | Olga - Olga's Dream [LIITHELI] 2020

In February of this year photographer and producer Daniel Herrmann and his partner, singer-songwriter Kristina Kristofferson, released their first collaborative outing on our cassette offshoot Bytes. The album was a beautiful collection of long, meditative and atmospheric soundscapes made during a winter spent at one of their homes in the Taunus forest, on the outskirts of Frankfurt. 

Individually they've both had their fair share of musical accolades; Daniel as Flug 8, who has been a regular on Ransom Note Records for the last few years, and Kristina as Mono Girl, who formerly composed music for Nintendo.

Stimulated by an introduction from a friend to Börft Records, the pair have created a mix in homage to the Swedish label, recorded in their woodland home...

Herrmann Kristoffersen: The 'Monday Is OK' Mix

The waves gently lapped at her ankles as she dug her toes further into the sand, feeling the grains scratching against the soles of her feet. These waking hours were when the sea was at its most calm, before the local fishing boats had anchored up and the hordes of holiday makers began descending on the beach. She inhaled deeply, letting the silence wash over her; nothing beat those early morning hours...

Multi-Instrumentalist Mark Jacobs moonlights as Prairie, a project that blends various musical ideas and atmospheres. His second long player for Denovali Records following 2018’s After The Flash Flood, across the nine tracks on And the Bird Said: Cut Me Open and Sing Me Jacobs works with various recording techniques, analog gear, guitar pedals, synths and human voices to create layers of cinematic and droning sonics. 

Written in the mountains of the French Cévennes, the album is inspired by several different themes and ideas, from the silence of the birds and the tone between a mother and her daughter to constant wailing sirens and the memory of a Vangelis track.
