And to welcome us back Kibosh has kindly emptied his robot studio of all the odds and ends that he's been keeping 'somewhere safe’, to serve up this rip thumping summer funk-stroller ‘Struck’ - which is yours for free! It's ok, it's in our back garden, don't worry about the wasps, we've got them drunk on ginger tears. Kibosh is giving out mats on the helter skelter, there's a flaccid bouncy castle and I'm looking after the tunnel of goats! It took a long time to get this tune finished because Mr Stabalina did indeed throw his hands in the air, and because he’s made of helium and sex musk, they floated off and were taken by an eagle.

We contacted Team America but they kept repeating ‘Mmmaaattt Dammmmmooonnnn’, over and over; we contacted The A-Team but they refused to travel; we contacted the Time Team but they had a problem with their geophys; no answer at all from The Suicide Squad. In the end we tracked them down with a sex-musk-o-meter. Hello. My name is Mr Stabalina. You stole my hands. Prepare to die.*

Safely back in the studio we’ve been trying alternatives to throwing actual hands in the air. We’ve tried ants, pants and washing machines, but after getting stung, arrested and breaking very many bones we’d recommend just sticking with your hands and damn the consequences.

*The Eagle and Mr Stabalina formed a firm friendship and are now fighting crime in Guatemala.

Slynk and Fort Knox Five released their DC to BC collaboration in Fall 2021. “Keep the Funk Real” is a mid-tempo glitch-hop banger that features Evan’s signature killer keyboard riffs, fat bass drops, funky guitar hooks, strings, horns and bumpin’ beats. The next step was to find a remixer and their mutual admiration for Megan Hamilton’s production and funky approach to music made her the obvious choice! 

Megan Hamilton is a producer/vocalist out of Minneapolis and is known for her unique mix of hypnotic bass lines, funky riffs and house grooves. On top of releasing her own original music, she has been collaborating with artists like Defunk and touring with such notable acts as Opiuo, delivering her groovy brand of funk and creating quite a wave of hype along the way!

On her remix of Keep the Funk Real, she pushes the original’s mid-tempo wobbly direction into a funky, chunky, bubbling bouncer of a track. By speeding up the tempo, adding a banging house beat and flipping the music elements, Megan manages to keep the funky soul vibe of the track intact, while creating a super fun floor-burner that’s guaranteed to move your feet!

This remix is a sure fire “straight to the crates” tune that is destined to be funking up festivals all summer long. The release also includes an instrumental mix for the DJs.
