"Rising London-based producer Otik steps up with his debut 12” for Bristol imprint Durkle Disco. Resolutely rooted in the present day, both tracks gleefully nod to the past by channeling the darker end of UK garage, Detroit's industrial moodiness and the dusty depths of early dubstep.

"Remix duties for 'Acne Downs' go to Caski (Ghost Recordings/EMF/Keysound), one of the leading proponents of the slowed down 2-step sound, whose reworking aims straight for the dancefloor.

"Otik has been steadily building a reputation for forward thinking, genre-bending sounds around the 130bpm mark. In addition to his regular Radar Radio show, recent releases have graced Dusky's 17 Steps imprint, Infinite Machine, and Push & Run - with support from BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC 6Music.

The second release from Manchester–based Trapped Audio, the 12″ features two new cuts showcasing the producer's current vibe. "Since emerging in 2012 on dubstep pioneer El-B's legendary Ghost Recordings, Caski, has garnered a reputation for creating compelling and increasingly experimental bass music of the highest order; gaining support from the likes of Mumdance, Akkord and Pinch. His sounds vibrate in a realm not too far away from the likes of Lamont and Biome. Off the back of releases on Electro Magnetic Fields, Keysound and Tectonic, this release sees him venturing further away from the 140 bpm template and further into his own world of idiosyncratic rhythms and tones. Eery and dark, without being bleak or negative, the tracks roll through meticulous and complex rhythms; moving towards the abrasive - yet never taking a step away from the danceable. Truth - Show Dem (Cartridge Remix) (DDDXMAS20) [HNYBSS Premiere]

With 2020 finally coming to an end and the holiday season in full effect, it is once again time for the Deep Dark and Dangerous X-Mas Remix Album. 2020 has been a year filled with tragedy and hardships, as Covid-19 created a global pandemic, that is still affecting lives across the globe.  Thankfully, throughout all of the hardships, there have been some silver linings.

Almost as soon as lockdown went into effect, the DDD gang kicked it into full gear, starting up the Quarantine Sessions live stream series. First a weekly, and later transitioning into a bi-weekly stream on Twitch and Facebook, the series quickly became a massive center of gravity in the dubstep community. By providing fans with a few hours of their favorite artists, streaming live allowed a temporary break from the hardships the pandemic has caused. I'm sure we speak for all live-streaming artists when we say the donations have been super helpful, and we're very grateful for all the love and support from the community. For this, we thank you. 

We would also like to thank Lost, for this super juicy twist on Rez - Adidas.  Lost really brought the A game for this tune, and it's hard to miss it. With clean sound design, an absolutely amazing blend of groove with the percussion, and a silky smooth bass line, there's no way you're getting this one out of your head.

We over at Rewind140 want to thank Deep Dark & Dangerous, Truth, and the whole team, all the artists, and the entire community for giving us the opportunity premiere this album and tune. We'd also like to wish you happy holidays.

2021 has arrived and what better way to kick off the year than with the return of Fork and Knife to In:flux Audio for his 3rd EP. This time we see Fork and Knife trying his hand at a more Dubstep influenced affair, although you can still tell its Fork and Knife's productions with those signature percs and high intensity synths working solidly throughout.

Remixer wise we've got a blend of old and new to the label in the form of J. Kong and Charla Green. J. Kong takes the title track 'The Swarm' and reworks it into his lovely minimal Dubstep vibe with trippy drums and subtle sound design whilst utilising the best parts of the original. Sheffield's Charla Green makes her debut on the label, taking the track 'Cream' and giving it a Jungle makeover sprinkled with plenty of breakbeats and dirty bass noises - something you can expect to hear more of in the future as we plan a few projects with the talented producer.
