An electroacoustic journey on the waterways of dreams. A beatless lullaby for the life-beaten souls. A soundescape from the city to the fields and recordings of those. An aural watercolour painting.

This is a redux studio version of the mix I played @ Watercolours open-air festival in Riga on 06.09.2014, and which was banned by Soundcloud for copyright reasons and available on Mixcloud only. 
   
Still, I kept thinking of finding a way to put it on Soundcloud, but a straightforward edit wasn't an option because taking the suppressed track out would ruin the dramaturgy of the mix; and actually, I was already considering reshaping the live take into a more refined studio version. So here it is: meticulously (re)constructed, multi-layered assemblage that still takes cues from momentary impulses of a live performance. I think it's one of the cases when an obstacle forces you to improve and achieve even better results than you originally were aiming for.

Colours of the Water

The main idea behind this mix was to create a soothing, positive sonic landscape to help me clear my mind. The mix avoids going into abstract or darker territories, and in my opinion has a rather friendly vibe to it.

It seemed like a good idea to share this with my Soundcloud friends. Please enjoy.

DJ Metatron aka Traumprinz - 2 The Sky

Estonian composer Arvo Pärt wrote this piece for his friend’s daughter, Alina, in the same year I was born. Last night as I struggled to find comforting words for my daughter as I tucked her into bed, she asked me to play piano for her, as she often does, to help her drift off to sleep peacefully. Instinctively, yet unconsciously I chose this piece. -For Koen, for Alina, for all of our daughters.

This work is poetically inspired by gravitational anomolies on the moon - in particular 5 landscapes known as Mares or “Seas”. The moon’s crust varies in mass due to impact craters and embedded asteroids. The additional mass results in spots of stronger gravity which have been  
mapped and calculated by NASA’s GRAIL mission. 

The piece is structured over five sections, each containing music intuitively abstracted from the varying landscapes and gravity observed on orbital paths over 5 of the moon’s Mares. 

The title refers to the stark lunar landscape as a “White Sea”,  the Mares being “Whirlpools” of  concentrated gravity encountered whilst traversing them from chosen orbits.

This is an extract from the two hours journey of DASHA RUSH at the Kuboraum Gallery in Berlin during the third episode of their event series held during Berlin Atonal Festival since 2015 (www.berlin-atonal.com). 
DASHA RUSH is the best example of sophistication, perfectionism and beautiful execution in the scenario of electronic music. DJ, performer and producer on labels such as Raster-Noton and her own Fullpanda imprint. This extract from Dasha's astonishing dj set in the dense and unique atmosphere of the Kuboraum wunderkammer will literally open the doors of your dreams, a full immersion in the oblivion of time, drifting into universal states.

Operating in the abstract regions of techno and coming from a visual background, Marco Shuttle has carved out his own little niche in recent years. Releasing on outlets such as Time To Express, The Bunker and Clone, Marco Shuttle's journeying..

Marco Shuttle has always achieved a lot with a little, and that is the singular aesthetic that stands him apart. His cinematic techno sounds are unusually organic: they build pressure in subtle ways and his meticulous grooves never fail to take listeners on a trip to somewhere new and exciting. As a result of this, he has become a firm favourite amongst the techno cognoscenti and has released on some of the most revered labels of the day, from famed New York club The Bunker’s new label to Peter van Hoesen’s untouchable Time To Express via Clone SOS and his regular home, Eerie Records.
Italian born but London based, where he also gained his MA in Fashion at St Martin’s. What ties his creative work together is a focus on abstract yet organic texture and the same thing defines his tightly woven DJ sets from fabric to Berghain to Labyrinth in Japan. His eclectic cerebral sound takes cues from jazz and musique concrete as much as it does from acid house and Detroit techno.
Early breakout records like his 'The Vox Attitude' have been followed up with great abstract outings on Clone and remixes for Third Side, whilst the future promises a collaboration with compatriot and fellow producer and friend Donato Dozzy as Anxur. It will land on Eerie, Marco’s own well-formed label and is sure to be another supple and succulent offering that proves Marco Shuttle to be a uniquely minded techno troubadour.
