Reduced is a new series that strips sound back to its most transcendental, restorative and atmospheric textures to block out the noise and aid focus, attunement and relaxation. Each one will be paired with a mental health charity and be accompanied by an interview focussed on self-care. The combination of all three will create an evolving resource of knowledge and experience that provides solace, inspiration, reassurance and company in difficult times.

Hailing from the southeastern
U.S., producer and DJ Nikki Nair has, in a short time,
distinguished himself as a bold voice in the landscape of hybridized dance music. Having released four EPs in 2019 and four more in 2020, his productions have found homes on cult labels like Pretty Weird Records and Gobstopper. His work traverses genres, often fusing electro, breaks and UK bass sentiments. Despite the essential grittiness of his sound, Nair’s commitment to craft is undeniable. In fact, some of the game’s most respected artists (Four Tet, Batu, Ben UFO) have taken notice and hyped many of his tracks.
Nikki Nair’s technique as a DJ is just as impressive as his production ability. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Nair is an expert in cross
genre blending. His sets are somatic, textured
and dynamic, braiding acidic electro, ghettotech, broken rhythms, experimental disco and bass music with dexterous ease. Nair’s sound and vision is fresh and forward thinking, pointed to move and mesmerize peak time floors.

Boo Lean (aka Lauren Goshinski) is a DJ and av curator, known behind the scenes as the co-founder of the VIA Festival, and resident/promoter at Hot Mass in Pittsburgh PA. This girl has done so much for underground dance and experimental music in the last decade, including guest curating festivals and programs such as New Forms Festival (Vancouver) and Public Records (NYC). But most of all she loves to deliver a good sidewinding mix in the dark.
