The Fame

Ands Mega (AKA Andrés Gómez) is a young music producer from Puebla City, Mexico, who specializes in chuggy techno and creative electronic music ‘without limitation’. After releases on Logical Records, as well as cuts for Nein, Play Pal, and others as part of the duo FLXXX, Ands Mega makes a bold statement on Roam Recordings with “ Hypermanic ”. The track is awash in dark synths and throbbing bass, building steadily over seven minutes with its delightfully
foreboding groove. The cut is dynamic and special, evoking John Carpenter film themes and the European underground in sound and melodic flavor. Two remixes accompany “Hypermanic”, led by a version from Madrid-based producer Telesketch (Logical, Nein) who adds a more insistent rhythm and a gloriously huge mid-song breakdown. El Fulminador (Fulmen Records), hailing from Berlin-via-Argentina, follows with a version of “Hypermanic” that gets into a
spacier and sexier zone. The original’s ‘chug’ is there, enveloped in obscure pads, gentle keys, and mysterious vocal snatches. It’s another captivating release from Roam Recordings, signaling an ambitious 2017 release schedule.

We’re always digging the sounds coming from Mexico of late. So when we were offered an exclusive sneak peek at another choice cut from Andrés Gómez aka Ands Mega, we thought we would of course take up the offer. His new Hypermanic EP is an absolute peach, and we’ve managed to land the wondrous Telesketh remix. Prepare to be blown away.

When you think Mark Bailey aka Man2.0 could not go more acid, his new release on the emergent label Dogmatraxxx proves you wrong. "Guttersnipe", the title track of this EP, "is a piece inspired by how we perceive social classes" nowadays, according to Mark. You can more clearly notice this reference if you are familiar with the meaning of the word guttersnipe: a child who spends most of the time in the streets, especially in a slum area, brought up in squalor. “It’s a tune which salutes people who are not normally listened to", he adds.

Regarding the main influences Mark used to produce the EP, he states that he was listening to a lot of new Electro stuff at the time, mostly from Jensen Interceptor and The Hacker. Influences more than enough to explain why Mark explored even more his acid side. The title track, specifically speaking, is the one you can notice Man2.0’s inspirational sources in a more distinct way. They were expertly used to blur the boundaries between Electro and Techno, blending breakbeats with 4/4s, topped with vibrant acid lines, groovy bass riffs, fast-paced hats and robotic vocal samples. “Guttersnipe” is definitely a banger! Trust blindly on it to put some fire on the dance floor.

And kudos to Mark for bringing such a powerful message through his music.

Inspired by the ongoing stress and paranoia of living in Mexico City, the producer Undefined Pattern delivers to Richmerch 3 fresh and new original choons for the most exigent dance floors.

Starting with a dark and mysterious cut with some low-pitched voices, "El Alienado" tease you up for what comes next.

"El Anejado" is one of those tunes that evolves gradually taking you to higher levels of excitement.

"CONVERGENXIA" it's just six minutes of violent stabbing beats.

We invited Fabrizio Mammarella to close the EP with his "Pepsi Center Mix" of "El Anejado" switching it into a floorfiller that sounds like a clash of Italo Disco and French Electro Synth-Wave.

All tracks have been previously tested on various raves, clubs and dance floors before being released.

Fauna Rêve was born in 2020, but it was actually conceived years ago. In a remote town in the Mexican jungle, a group of teenagers gathered to find new and different realities, far from the temporary. No one knew that in those long nights the germ of future and distant adventures had been planted.
 
It is difficult to deny that the overexposure to transforming agents such as psychedelic rock, rave culture and proto-tech-mex left an irreversible mark on the incipient personalities of our protagonists. 

Time later, the label was born between dark and distorted memories of the jungle, the wildlife, the chemicals, the synthetic tones, the electric guitars and the slow sunrises, which  finally did not stop feeling like an ancient deja vú.
