1. Which artists has influenced you the most?

- I've always had a huge admiration for all things Detroit and the 90’s which I grew up in and in particular the Original Trio of UR 101, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood and Mad Mike. HEROES!

2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- In Jan 2022, I launched my own Label Mini Man Records, Focusing on Electro & Techno with a nod to all things Detroit, Acid, Funk & Sci-Fi.
The 1st EP, The Bends was a Sci-Fi style electro EP (Limited Number still available ) and the 2nd instalment Sea Snake drops 30th Sep which is a darker electro EP with lots of soul and funk it comes with a killer remix from Human Rebellion which is pure fire. The 3rd EP on MMR which is part of a trilogy as the music gets darker is due out 2023.. I’ve a couple of other projects bubbling under the surface and all will be revealed, you will have to stay tuned.

3. Which artists/labels are more relevant to you now?

- Artists like Human rebellion, The Exaltics, Heinrich Dressel, Scape One, Maelstrom are inspiring. While labels like, Science Cult, Rave or Die, Truss and Mechatronica keep on knocking out the goods, also shouts out to Keith Tucker aka K1 for his non-stop work and rereleasing some of his PuzzleBox back catalogue along with future classics. On the Techno front Artists like Lee Holman and Stef Mendesidis are always on top of their game.

4. What inspires you now to create music?

- Positive energy and positive vibes help me, but to be honest, I only make music when I’m in a state of flow and I make whatever flows out through me, I never force it or push it, I might wake up with an idea and I go straight into the studio and jam out my ideas.

5. If it's not a secret, what set-up do you use when creating music?

- No secret, I record everything through an old Mackie 24/8 straight into the Ableton which is my DAW of choice. My Hardware setup has been the same for a long time and I’m super happy with it.

Power has embarked on diverse ventures, from curating, promoting club nights and performing alongside renowned DJs and Live acts to delving into production and overseeing a record label. With a repertoire spanning decades, holding down multiple residences, playing various European venues and festivals, While being the host of the 'Electric Circus' radio show, dedicated to introducing global talent to a wider audience. As a producer he has released music on Hilltown Disco, Mini Man Records, TakeOver Records, Psykosocial and has multiple EP releases dated for 2024. His recent endeavour includes the rebrand of Mini Man Records, while focused on cultivating underground Techno and Electro music.

Power has shared the DJ Booth and has been the warm up Dj for legends such as Jeff Mils, Juan Atkins, Derek May, Robert Hood, Rolando, Carl Craig, Dave Clarke, Green Velvet, Luke Slater, Oscar Mulero, Speedy J, Steve Rachmad, Ben Sims, Slam, and many more.

He’s productions have been played by artists like Dave Clarke, L.F.T, Plant43, DVS NME and Sunil Sharpe.

Power, a true stayer to the underground has a made his mark in the electronic music scene and continues to make significant strides across multiple facets of the industry. From the early 2000’s as a DJ to his current ventures in music production, and radio hosting. As a DJ, Power has performing at an array of prestigious venues and festivals across his native Ireland and in Europe. His dynamic sets, which blend styles and genres, while always being true to Detroit Techno & Electro earned him residencies at multiple club nights, often playing along side genre elites like Jeff Mills, Juan Atkins, Derek May to Dave Clarke, affirming his deep connection to the underground music community. While he also curating & promoting his club night Electric Circus for over a decade, hosting names Robert Hood, Steve Rachmad to Luke Slater. A notable aspect of Power’s career is his role as the host of the ' The Electric Circus Show ' a pirate radio show on opentempo fm. Through this platform, Power is dedicated to introducing listeners to a wide range of global talent that airs monthly. As a producer, Power's work has also made waves, with releases on labels such as Hilltown Disco, Mini Man Records,TakeOverRecords and Psykosocial. For Avenue Red Podcast episode 139 we welcome Leeds-born and bred selector Barry Duke AKA Sputnik. Without doubt he is one the finest electro pilots out there, having a knowledge of the genre that is as vast as his music collection. "I'm a Leeds-based DJ who predominately plays techno and electro and has spun at various Leeds nights including the much-missed, by those who used to attend, Detatched, Future-Past, Tensile, Bistro Techno and Axiom. I've been a follower of Avenue Red for a few years now and was thinking of creating (or is it 'curating' nowadays?) a Detroit-flavoured mix that would fit in with the vibe I was getting from the mixes I'd listened to. We are glad to present our 5th installment of our Electro series with a special guest coming from Italy, Urban Distortions' label head:  Massimo  Luciano aka SLAKER.


Massimo is a DJ/Producer  &  sound  engineer  from  Napoli,  he  has always  been  involved  in  music  since  early  80's,  playing  as  DJ  and  inspired  by  Synth-Pop, Electro  &  Disco;  then  attracted  by  synthesizers  &  samplers  he  approached  to computer  music. 


From  the  early  90’s  he  played  techno  for  clubs  &  parties  in  Napoli  and  in  Bologna, where  he  performed  also  as  part  of  the  techno-trio  “RANDOM/NOIZE”  for  their  live set;  and  producing  for  DESIGN  MUSIC  "SYNCSITE  EP"  and  appeared  on  "NEAPOLIS" CDs  1  &  2. 


Back  in  Naples,  in  2000  he  produced  then  the  project  CHAMALEON  “Step  It  On  Up” published by  LE  CLUB/VALE  MUSIC  &  ABSOLUTELY  Records. From  2005  to  2009  he  spends  much  time  in  Thailand  performing  as  a  DJ  for  some  of the  most  renowned  clubs  and  parties  such  as  Black  Moon  Party,  and  many  more. In  the  last  20  years  he  worked  as  a  sound  engineer  for  wide  range  of  music productions,  developing  his  skills  as  a  producer.  


Moved  in  London,  from  2015  he’s running  his  own  concept/label  <<Urban  Distortions>>,  that  takes  inspiration  from  the urban  environment  that  has  influenced  the  electronic  music  scene  and  producers over  the  last  decades  generating  new  sounds  and  new  art  forms. His  label  boasts  several  releases,  including  his  latest  album  "The  Transition",  which has  attracted  international  interest  also  from  the  mithic  Will  Web (Deep  Space  Radio, Detroit), amongst many others.

A Dutch artist famous for his mighty releases and fierce mixes which have granted him a well-deserved place in the @bassagenda universe thanks to powerful productions as Main Squeeze or Heretofore (@discosatonicos) his latest EP to date. As a dj, he bases his sets on dynamism and intensity without leaving behind the soul of this genre and, unavoidably, pushing us to the dance floor. DECENNIUM04 - Nullptr (Central Processing Unit)

For the 4th edition of our DECENNIUM series we bring you an artist making huge waves in the Electro world in recent times; Eddie Symons aka Nullptr (Central Processing Unit).

Eddie's first step into the Electro scene came with his debut release as Nullptr on the highly regarded Detroit Underground label. In 2018 he followed this with an EP for Sheffield giants Central Processing Unit, which received airplay on B Traits' Radio 1 show, and gained support from the likes of Jensen Interceptor, Carl Finlow, DVS NME & many more. Another recent release came courtesy of Solar One Music's Between Places sub label, with another selection of modular-fuelled intergalactic Electro. This year has seen Eddie firmly cement his position as one of the greats in the scene with his 2nd release on Central Processing Unit, his 10 track album entitled 'Future World', which has gained huge notoriety amongst the elite in the scene.

In the last few years Eddie has built up his DJing experience, playing regularly at his Motherchip Connexion events, where he is known for playing a diverse range of electro, from dark machine funk to acid-tinged braindance.

It is an honour to have such a bright talent on our series and as we expected, his exclusive set is nothing short of brilliant, captivating us for the entire journey.
