“Whisper” is Aural Trace´s latest production, a 2-original track EP which gathers all the good things we love about the Berlin-based musician: Synth waves infused with powerful bass lines, upbeat percussive elements and that melancholia touch toying with our feelings and emotional boundaries that get us have his music on repeat.

Originally from Chile and now a resident of Berlin, Manuel Ortuzar, aka Aural Trace, is not a new-comer in the scene, with releases on Ombral INTL, Bordello A Parigi, Melopée Records, Play Pal Music, Melodize, Logical Records, as well as his own label Odd Pleasures he co-founded with Max Ferrer, his binom of their common project Random Atlas. At Thisbe, we are delighted to welcome him and his new EP among the label´s catalogue.

With “Whisper”, Aural Trace delivers another well-crafted EP, highlighting his mastery in music production, being also a mixing and mastering engineering by day.

The EP is completed by remixes by Rambal Cochet and Pyrame: Rambal Cochet takes the Goa Breaks route to produce a mix that drives the listener into an enigmatic self-reflective trip, while Pyrame brings the introspective voyage from the original mix into another side of our sub-conscience.

“Whisper“ is due to drop on Friday the 06th of December 2024 on all streaming platforms Bandcamp and Beatport via Thisbe Recordings.

PREMIERE: Aural Trace - Just With You (Pyrame Remix) [THISBE Recordings]

It is a pleasure for Odd Pleasures to welcome Peaces, the project by Rizki S. Djanegara coming all the way from Jakarta, Indonesia. Captivated by the sound of new wave, disco, rock and post-punk, Peaces music explores and seamlessly blends these styles and beyond without any boundaries. presenting an ethereal mantra like EP, a sonic adventure to forgotten lands. The two originals provide evocative dark and pulsating atmospheres with a raw edge and energy. A distilled blend of rock with ritualistic and exotic hints.

In remix duties his good friend also hailing from Jakarta Indonesia, Arvin Fajar takes “Poised Ranger” spicing it up, with a bouncy and hypnotic energy. Ghostly voices and fast percussion combined with a steady bassline result in a relentless trip.

Wrapping up the EP comes JGR who needs no introduction, an important member of the label’s family at this point. Taking “Hour Strike” and converting it into a frenetic travel with his signature acid groovy synths, sticky basslines and a touch of perfectly arranged raw beats. Culminating in a pumped up killer of a remix.

The second release of the French label Crowhunt Records brings the second appearance of Fabio Me Llaman Soltero on our platform. Save his name, peeps: The Guatemalan DJ & producer has been shaking the world for the last months with his bold and sophisticated works. His new EP – "Secreto Infiel", which lies somewhere between dark/new wave and electronic disco – brings two originals plus two remixes by Mexican duo FLXXX and label boss MontCosmik. 

The remix we decided to premiere, made by MontCosmik, seems to deliver an alien message from outer space. Obscure but groovy, his interpretation of "FMLLS" puts together menacing synth & arpeggio layers with a throbbing bassline, giving life to a powerful tune devoted to bringing some ecstasy to the dance floor.      

Special credits to The Wall Studio (Metz, France) for the mastering.

ACID DESERT is the second chapter of the record saga/series produced by KAKOFONICO for the Milan label INTERSEZIONI Rec.
The unique sound setting created by the evocative power of music will lead you into a magical desert that make you feel immersed in a sort of an ancestral rite.

The sounds of the Turkish musical tradition are mixed with tight rhythmic patterns and electronic elements, giving a definite dancefloor imprint to each track, where past and modernity merge to create a perfect balance/harmony.

But the original and authentic touch/vibe of this EP are the beautiful voice of the Turkish singer Beyza Cakir and the percussions of Lorenzo d'Erasmo, who played a decisive role in the creation of the album.

In addition to the three original tracks, the EP includes also a Remix of the single "Acid Desert" by the Italian duo "Underspreche", with more House influenced beats.
