Brynjolfur's 'Sintético' promises a joyful revival of summer dancefloors. Inspired by the music of Southern Europe in the late 80s and early 90s, the EP draws on a range of genres from italo to dream house to the nascent forms of progressive and trance. The four-track EP, radiates a warm, sun-drenched vibe, is out May 12th.

Cleaning up my computer and files I came across many tracks I've done in the past that are useless and horrible. Buuut I found a couple that I felt could work pretty well nowadays. Everyone is playing fast, so let's just go back in time to my hard drive 7 to 10 years ago and enjoy some 105 to 110 bpm tunes. Repetitive, groovy, heavy basslines and a good old snare.

The track nails the neo-Italo vibe with its booming kickdrum, swirling, uplifting - yet melancholic - chords, and bell sounds that feel straight out of a 1983 FM machine. The Italian vocals, like they were pulled from an old  TV broadcast and recorded on tape, add a raw, nostalgic touch that completes the vibe.
