Total Annihilation Beach is the latest collection from Caveman LSD, one of the handful of monikers of Special Guest DJ / uon / sometimes just shy. Their releases under this name have always had the character of sonic transmissions – crushed sine-waves hurtling out of a wormhole, remote pirate radio bandwidths, whale-song picked up on radar, and so on. Here, the signal seems to come from a place whose remoteness is not defined by distance, but adjacency: these are alternate reality bops.

Entouré. es de leurs vinyles, cassettes et pleins d’autres objets magiques iels improvisent cette sélection musicale qu’iels déforment et remodèlent par le biais de textures sonores à la fois grinçantes et enveloppante, dans laquelle pitch débridées, collage d’FX et percussions organiques créent un moment à la fois rituel et futuriste.
Fondateur.ices du label Zam Zam Record, ancien.es pensionnaires de la scène bristolienne des années 2010, iels sont aujourd’hui basé.es dans le centre de la France et joignent leurs forces à l’organisation des festivals La Berge et New Trad Fest.
