Playing a set in the techno capital is prestigious, but it can be demanding. Even a roaring crowd may not fully recharge you. But not for Needle and Plate. Spontaneity has always been the hallmark of this unstoppable duo. A few inspiring photos were all it took to book a flight to a neighbouring country. Now they were playing tag hopping from a cobblestone to a cobblestone like those were some tiny islands. Narrow streets guided them through vibrant facades, terraces, bridges, and graffiti walls. A bottle of Soplica in hand meant that this evening was bound to be something special.

Their urban quest eventually came to an end, giving way to the magic of a neon-lit courtyard, and thento a serene riverside view. Warm air, the quacking of ducks, and the laughter of passersby slowed down the time itself. Needle and Plate sat silently watching the city lights ripple across the water. “Sometimes spontaneous decisions bring the best stories,” Needle said softly. Like a rare track played only once, Wrocław would forever remain not just a place, but a feeling.

These were our internal working titles anyway. In the end, it's a big compilation with 21 artists that we don't want to pigeonhole, because it's a big zoo! Originally released in 2009, this standout remix package followed the release of Steve Bug’s fourth full artist album, Collaboratory, which dropped earlier that year to widespread acclaim. The album captured Steve’s dedication to forward-thinking house music, teaming up with a stellar cast of collaborators including Gigi, Donnacha Costello, and Simon Flower.
Collaboratory Remixes Vol.1 brought fresh interpretations from Ribn, Motor City Drum Ensemble, and Sven Tasnadi, and still holds up today.

Ribn (aka Manuel Tur and Langenberg) deliver a deep, dubby, Detroit-tinged take on “Like It Should Be” featuring Gigi. Their Translucent Vox Remix builds with patience, drawing you in with a long, atmospheric intro before locking into a driving, bass-led groove that honors Gigi’s sultry vocals.

Motor City Drum Ensemble brings the heat with a raw house twist on “Still Music,” the Bug and Costello collaboration. Loaded with late 80s and early 90s drum machine attitude and bubbling keys, it’s an acid-tinged workout that still burns.
Sven Tasnadi rounds things out with a tight, tracky remix of “Passing Clouds” (Bug and Simon Flower), fusing melancholic synth lines with solid drums and a modern tech-house edge.

From the vibrant shores of Portugal to the pulsating heart of Berlin, Jepe has carved out a unique and captivating presence in the global electronic music scene.

Jepe's musical journey began in Aveiro, a coastal town near Porto, where he was drawn to the rhythmic energy of the ocean. At just 16 he had his own radio show, and by 19 he was already commanding the decks at one of the biggest clubs in his hometown. 

As one half of duo Johnwaynes, he made waves with releases on   Mulemusiq, Compost Records, Get Physical, and Cecille. And in 2013, Jepe embarked on a solo path, spanning top labels such as Diynamic, Moodmusic ++. 

As founder of rising label Eastern Standard, Jepe is also a visionary curator. And as a skilled mix engineer at Berlin’s renowned Blackhead Studios, he cultivates his perfectionism in both analog and digital rhythmical landscapes.

Of Norway - L`Intemporelle (Jepe Loves Ursula Edit) - badabing diskos [OCC PREMIERE]

The prolific Mexican label Duro kicks off the second half of the year with an explosion of rhythm and movement courtesy of the duo Factory Setup. Their highly anticipated EP, "Afrikka", lands on June 27, 2025, promising a deep dive into hypnotic grooves, and infectious percussions.

Factory Setup, the project born from the synergy of Joseeph and Zhino – both residents of Guadalajara's iconic Bar Américas. Their approach, which unearths forgotten gems from the late '80s, '90s, and 2000s and combines them with contemporary freshness, finds its ultimate expression in "Afrikka," a work celebrating the vibrant connection between Latin and African rhythms.

The sonic journey begins with "Afrikka (Original Mix)", which exposes the raw backbone of the groove, allowing the percussive mystique and captivating vocals to take center stage. This leads seamlessly into "Flow First (Original Mix)", a hypnotic cut that maintains its intoxicating essence by stripping away the piano, revealing a deeper, constant pulse that ensnares you in its wave.

Adding an unyielding dimension, the EP includes the "Flow First (Hardvard Bass Remix)". With solid drums and demented synthesizers, Hardvard Bass constructs a sonic voyage where a booming bassline guides you through a shower of synths. It's a tech house-oriented track that pushes the energy to new limits, perfect for the dancefloor's most intense moments.

Next, the energy ignites with "Afrikka (Stab Mix)", a pure Latin house anthem that transports you directly to a sun-drenched dancefloor. Its ancient African percussions fuse with psychedelic vocals and an insistent, rhythmic stab, creating a groove you simply won't want to stop. The EP then beautifully circles back with "Flow First (Piano Mix)", where a playful array of drums and percussions intertwines with a piano that simply invites you to move, as soothing vocals envelop you in a rhythmic spiral, lifting both soul and body in an uninterrupted dance.

Factory Setup's "Afrikka" is more than just an EP; it's a celebration of global rhythm, an invitation to a complete surrender to the groove.
