Jason Letkiewicz has always swum against the musical tides, flitting between different solo pseudonyms (including Steve Summers, Death Commando and Alan Hurst) and collaborative projects (most notably Mutant Beat Dance) in order to explore different aspects of his leftfield inspirations. With his latest release, a first full-length outing for Artificial Dance entitled Mirage Information, the Chicago-based artist is operating under an alias that celebrates this approach: Opposing Currents.

It’s an alias he’s used once before – for a track featured on Chronditic Sound’s 2015 cassette compilation Non-Christian Referent – but Mirage Information sounds like an artistic rebirth. Densely layered, mind-altering and often intense, the album’s seven tracks update the Cold War paranoia and pulsating electronics of EBM and industrial music for today’s complex and chaotic political climate.

Throughout, Letkiewicz smothers off-kilter drum machine rhythms and throbbing, body-jacking synthesizer basslines in untold layers of hazy audio detail, creating a dystopian sound soup out of which alien electronic melodies, psychedelic acid lines and barely audible vocals emerge. At times, such as on angry opener “Lying Awake”, the extra-terrestrial “Dissolve” and foreboding “Shallow Grave”, we’re invited to dance in the darkness in celebration of impending doom. On other occasions, such as the poignant and melancholic closing cut “It Awaits”, Letkiewicz simply seems exasperated at the chaos that is life in the 21st century. It makes for a genuinely arresting and thought-provoking listen.

Everyone of us wants to live forever, but more than half do not know what they gonna do at thursday evening, we are like those passengers who have gathered so many things with us that we forgot what lies at the bottom of the suitcase, and when we arrive at our destination, we find needless things in our luggage, same with our past, we don’t remember what it was and where we squander our experiences, memories and feelings, we are just passengers here, we are just passing through. 
Greek artist June makes his debut on Mannequin Records with the 'Silver Demon' LP. The album explores a futuristic dystopian world where transcendence and oppression coexist, where claustrophobia and infinite openness coincide. A world of contrasts that is the product of the artist‘s active imagination and conscious effort to confront the subconscious.
The album was recorded using original techniques from the golden era of electronic music (late 70s to mid 80s) with an arsenal of vintage analog synthesizers, drum machines and effect processors originating from the same time period. After a one year and a half break, Femur makes his comeback with a 12” by French artist Cold Colors. For this occasion, we are recovering a selection of early demos to be released for the first time on vinyl. The four compiled tracks represent the particular cosmos in which Frédérick Barbe moves like fish in water. A perfect mixture between wave sounds, evocative melancholies, and enveloping darkness make up a real trip across foggy atmospheres. Release limited to 300 copies.

Electronic Emergencies is an underground record label from Rotterdam, NL. 
The label was founded by DJs Spacemaker and Leather E, who both have their roots in electronic music and the underground queer scene. 
They have found each other in their love for electronic sounds, melancholy melodies and dark atmospheres, but are not bound to any style at all. 
Electronic Emergencies promotes artistic freedom, loves to work with and for the artists and was not created to make profit.
