I hadn't heard this before but of course was familiar with the Adagio. Thanks for your descriptive notes. It's a beautiful piece that you've brought forward for the rest of us. Thank you.

The recording was made in January, 2015 and features an all-star quartet of soloists: Soprano Angela Meade; Mezzo-Soprano Lilli Paasikivi; Tenor Russell Thomas, and Bass-Baritone Eric Owens (the Philharmonic's 2015/16 Artist-in-Residence.) Music Director Alan Gilbert conducts. The broadcast host is Alec Baldwin.

This recording  was part of my very first studio production. I labeled it "affettuoso assai" and made copies on compactCassettes, each one by hand !  During the following years I managed to sell 500 pieces during my first gigs and concerts and was enormously proud of it.

The "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Rodrigo became famous with its 2.movement (https://soundcloud.com/fhgitarre/adagio-concierto-de-aranjuez). This 3.movement is less popular. And, by far, the hardest one to play on the guitar...

It was an amazing experience to play with such a crowd of professional symphonic musicians under a real great conductor.
(But, and that was extremely hard : While playing I heard really *nothing* from my guitar.)
